A few days ago, I was leafing through my roommate’s copy of Gwyneth Paltrow’s cookbook, It’s All Good. Aside from having some rare photos of Gwyneth in her natural habitat (read: carelessly laughing while eating a vegan and/or gluten-free apple tart), what was so awe-inspiring about Paltrow’s foodie wisdom that was worth buying this ginormous, $55 volume?

Yesterday morning, I woke up at 3AM. I got ready as quickly as possible, slipped into the perfect pantsuit, and walked out my door by 4AM. I hailed a cab, got out at the Barnes and Noble in Union Square, and I sat in line (and sat in line, and sat in line, and sat in line). Katy Perry just changed her mind about feminism. Or maybe she’s been inspired by her UK counterpart Lily Allen, who also has something to say about the word. Or, did Hollywood finally make a Feminist Theory class a requirement? Doubtful, considering Perry’s track record with cultural appropriation, sexual objectification and reinforcement of fetishes. I’m starting to think that feminism is just good for publicity or something...After ... Read More

Amy Poehler and Jon Hamm held an exclusive-but-not-too-exclusive Emmys after-party this past Sunday night. The guest list: everyone who lost.
Poehler, comedic genius, and Hamm, master of all things brooding, have garnered 9 and 11 nominations respectively over the years but have no winged paperweights to show for it. Still, the Losers Lounge, as they called it, sounds a lot cooler than any party you’re planning to attend this week, complete with other ... Read More
