Zola Jesus is bigger than… well, you know. And if you don't, allow me to enlighten you with her brand new video for her song "Dangerous Days." Her music style is definitely cooler, darker and far more nuanced than many artists performing today, and I think we definitely all want to get lost within the spooky, mysterious world she so skillfully creates. The song itself is from her upcoming album TAIGA, to be released this October, and ventures further ... Read More
Thanks to the wonderful people at Fresh 102.7, Tegan and Sara will be at Long Island on Saturday, July 26th to perform at the annual “Fresh in the Park” concert.  Fresh has a legacy of bringing big music acts to the biggest little island in the contiguous 48 US states, having already hosted big names like: Sara Bareilles, Plain White T’s, and A Great Big World. All hail Feathers! They played the hell out of the best songs on their debut album, If All Now Here, filling the hall with their ominous, dance-y sound. I didn’t want it to end, and my only complaint ... Read More
Aside from his foxiness, gangly Kiwi singer Willy Moon has a lot going for him. Apple recently used his rowdy, retro song “Yeah Yeah” for its new ad (the one with all the bouncing iPods), and it caught the earballs of countless listeners. So is there more to this neo-rockabilly pop star than one catchy song and some very well-tailored suits? We’re happy to report that we've seen him live, and he is, in fact, legit. Moon played at Piano’s ... Read More
Attention, fans of free concerts! The Jelly NYC Pool Parties need your help ASAP. According to the Open Space Alliance, Brooklyn's East River Park may not be available in 2010 for everyone's favorite free concert series. This year featured FREE performances by all of these incredible bands: Girl Talk, Dirty Projectors, Deerhunter, HEALTH, Fiery Furnaces, Grizzly Bear (Jay-Z went to that one, remember?) and many, many more. So if you're as bummed about this news as ... Read More
