Did you sit and stare blankly at a wall of your room yesterday, wondering what regular people do with their lives without Game of Thrones on Sunday nights? Yeah, me too. That’s why I ordered this bad boy, among other reasons (no spoilers), on Etsy last week to sport in honor of my favorite lady of Westeros, Ygritte. After I got TONS of great feedback, I decided to put together a list of other great handmade Game of Thrones merch made by women, for ... Read More
If there are two things I care about in this world, it’s a person’s consent to sex and Game of Thrones. Definitely in that order. That’s why I’m starting to get a little fed up with the unnecessary rape scenes thrown into Game of Thrones that were not included in the book. I’m definitely not the only one who feels this way. There has been an outcry amongst fans after last week’s episode “Breaker of Chains” included a ... Read More
In the past, we’ve talked about the gratuitous nudity on Game of Thrones, and even the fact that women really do love the show (sorry to break it to ya, boys). But we’ve failed you in one aspect BUST readers: we haven’t discussed those beautiful braids and up-dos that our fave GoT ladies sport on the show. I know, I’m sorry we haven’t addressed this earlier. Luckily, I can help change that. I am pleased to present tutorials on ... Read More
Since August 11 of this year, two words burned themselves into our brains: Breaking Bad. The critically-acclaimed, award winning television series began to release its final episodes earlier this month, and it has yet to disappoint. If you’re familiar with Breaking Bad, then you might know about some of the fan reactions to show’s lead female character, Skyler White (played by actress Anna Gunn).    Anna Gunn recently wrote an Op-Ed ... This HYSTERICAL CollegeHumor video addresses that “dumb double standard” in the TV industry that’s got so many ladies’ feathers ruffled. No, not the pay grade one … or the leading actress/actor ratio one… or the one where “30 Rock” isn’t on the air anymore. (Not quite a double standard but an issue I, as a woman, have.)  These female comedians have “a boner to pick” with HBO … for not giving us the D. It’s true! For every time we ... Read More
Apparently, we needed this statistical answer: women make up 42 percent of the HBO series’ total 4.8 million viewers. Not a big number compared to True Blood’s 52 percent female viewership, but still big enough to stomp out Breaking Bad’s 36 percent.  What’s even more interesting is the fact that women make up half of the show’s online conversations and it’s pretty much all positive talk. I’ve tweeted countless times ... Read More

Ros from Game of Thrones. Full frontal nudity in 3...2...1... Game of Thrones, the HBO series based on George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels, premiered in April 2011. Since then, the show has received attention for its sprawling scope, large cast, morally complex characters, strong acting (particularly the performance of Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister), and the numerous shots of prostitutes and naked boobs in almost every episode. Yes, Game of ... Read More
The ladies are out to Kill! Kill! in the latest Antony and the Johnsons music video, directed by photographer and video artist Nabil Elderkin. The video for the single, literally and appropriately titled, “Cut the World”, plays like a brief operatic, cinematic experience. It opens with Willem Dafoe staring dramatically out into the world from behind his stark office-room glass window, fondling with what may be a wedding ring. His secretary, played by ... Read More
From the plush greenery right down to the dog-wolf companions, it’s no wonder the internet is buzzing with speculations that Riccardo Tisci drew inspiration from Game of Thrones for the Givenchy Fall 2012 Couture Collection. The collection is pretty incredible in and of itself even if you aren’t a fan of the show, but if you do tune in every week, this is a sure-fire way to bring a smile to your face.  Images courtesy of ...
