Annette and Sue Amendola, sisters living in Brooklyn, New York, have been putting up a nativity scene in the lot next to their home for more than ten years. The real Christmas miracle, though, is the fantastic colony of feral cats that takes over the space annually. They curl up between the figurines and cuddle on the warm hay bale that serves as a manger and, duh, it's freakin' adorable.
According to the Amendola sisters, when they lay the baby Jesus in the ... Read More

Underwear for the holidays? Oh boy, not again! But wait... this Kmart and Joe Boxer commercial actually makes underwear seem festive. Tossing out the familiar and overtly sexualized David Beckham-esque boxer aesthetic, the company opts for a parody of that sexualization, and I gotta say, this version is way more in the fun, magical and childlike vein of true holiday cheer. Watch the cute video below!

The campaign, whose theme is "Talented & Gifted," also features Broadway actors, entrepreneurs, and a 7th grade heavy-metal band (They're called "Unlock the Truth"--I am totally listening to them right now).
Tavi also has a hand-picked gift selection, which you can view here. You know, ... Read More

Oh my dear. Say it isn’t so. The designers over at sexy costume source Yandy are using a terrible misinterpretation of “twerking” to sell outfits. Of course, the first is an knock-off Miley Cyrus VMA costume called “Furry Party Animal Halloween Costume.” The other costumes have absolutely nothing to do with twerking ... Read More

For me, the words "gingerbread house" will forever call up images of me and my siblings as wee little towheads, covered in icing with nothing to show for our efforts but a two-graham cracker lean-to.
