It seems all this talk of movies with lead female characters making more money has finally caught on to the head media honchos in Hollywood, and I think it's about time.

On the list of badass villainesses, Maleficent from Disney's animated Sleeping Beauty ranks pretty high. Needless to say, I couldn't be more stoked she's getting a "her side of the story" treatment in a live-action film scheduled for release next year.
