At BUST, we love Johanna And The Dusty Floor, and they have a new video out we think you will enjoy just as much as we do. “Fishbones” is a beautiful and haunting slow electro-pop song. The video was shot by Jeaneen Lund, a regular contributor to BUST, and the amazing visuals (courtesy of Iceland) are as striking as the music.Johanna will be singing for The Cranberries on their world tour starting in October, but first she's  headlining a ... Dan Deacon’s new video for “True Thrush” off the new album America, out August 28th, is based on the game "telephone." Co-directed with Ben O'Brien, the video opens with a short scene created and filmed by the duo, which is then imitated by another team of two, and so on. Each pair was given one hour and one take to recreate the previous groups’ video from memory—costumes, set, acting and all. The game ends messier and more insane ... Read More
Polish-born musician Ela Orleans recently put out a music video for the song “Elegy,” off of her latest tape release, and it's just right for meadow naps during the golden hour. High Moon Low Sun is out now on Clan Destine Records, and is Orleans’ newest release since 2011’s excellent LP Mars Is Heaven. “Elegy” is a dreamy track, featuring the artist’s haunting vocals, some jazzy trumpet, and an uplifting jingling melody ... Despite the fact that she only just released the four-minute long trailer yesterday, Lana Del Rey’s video for “National Anthem,” featuring A$AP Rocky, was released this morning- and it's definitely interesting. Directed by Anthony Mandler, the video features Lana playing both Marilyn Monroe AND Jackie Onassis while A$AP plays JFK in what appears to be a live-action instagram reel. Whether it has you bleeding red, white, and blue or ready to move ... Read More
Having never lived in the suburbs, I view them as extremely foreign yet undeniably romanticized. But unique visions of life in suburbia come alive in Ssion's latest music video, "Earthquake," which was filmed in Kansas City, the hometown of the band's lead singer Cody Critcheloe. If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of peeping a Ssion (pronounced shun) video or hearing one of their tunes, the best way I can think to describe them is as something between a ... Read More
Just this morning, Sigur Rós released the video for “Fjögur Píanó,” from their new album, Valtari. Despite the fact that the video's highlights include topless bed-gymnastics, bondage and body-painting in a room filled with dead butterflies, and some friends enjoying hallucinogenic lollipops in an underwater car, the strangest part of this video has to be the fact that the whole thing stars a naked, ... Prepare for takeoff, earthlings. Dream-pop duo Beach House has teamed up again with director Allen Cordell on their latest music video for the meditative “Lazuli” off of their incredible recent album, Bloom. The video follows three lonely-types whose lives conjoin in another dimension by way of unusual circumstances. Via exploding eggs, interactive invisible walls, and dark smoke clouds, we’re transported into a cosmic dreamland that perfectly ... Read More
BUST favorites Spank Rock and Santigold teamed up for "Car Song" on his 2011 album Everything is Boring and Everyone is a Fucking Liar, and now there's a spooky music video to go with the song. The video, directed by photographer/filmmaker Luis Gispert, highlights pretty much everything we love about Spank Rock: his irreverent sense of humor and playful eccentricity. The climax of the video features Santigold needlepointing while two girls cover each other in ... Read More
When you break up with someone, how does it make you feel? What do you do to help yourself cope? In the music video for her song “Dresser Drawer,” singer sami.the.great deals with this situation in a gentle, honest, and even somewhat funny way. Her voice is lovely, the concept for the video is creative, and the song? Catchy! (I especially love all the unusual sounds she uses in the synth-y percussive beat that runs throughout the track.) But enough ... Read More
