“Just because you regret a one night stand, doesn’t mean it wasn’t consensual."
Wow. Go to hell.
These are the posters that have been popping up around the University of Alberta Campus in Edmonton. A bullshit mimicry of Battered Women's Support Services "Don't Be That Guy" project.
You may have seen the original brilliant campaign, which asserts that men should end their role in rape by not exploiting or taking advantage of someone ... Read More

It's no news that the military is still having trouble grasping the definition of sexual assault. Since 2010, sexual assaults in the military have skyrocketed from 19,000 to 26,000 today. This Air Force brochure about rape risk reduction is telling of how misguided whoever put this thing ... Sadly, it frequently is. Blaming the victim of a crime is ridiculous, but when the victim is unconscious? Yet we see cases where rape of an unconcious girl is downgraded to aggravated assault, and with the Big Red Steubenville rape, in the eyes of the ... Read More

Trigger Warning: This post contains a description of sexual assault that may potentially be triggering for survivors of assault.
Is it rape if you don’t put up a fight? Well, according to Orange County judge Derek G. Johnson, no, not really. To be clear, he believes that if a woman doesn’t put up a fight when attacked, then technically, yes, it is rape, but not “a real, live criminal case.”Let me explain. Back in 2008 Judge ... Read More

International tabloids have long since spun the story of Nafissatou Diallo into so much gossip gold. Diallo, an African immigrant working as a maid at the Sofitel in Manhattan, was thrust into the glaring media spotlight after an unfortunate encounter with Dominique Strauss-Kahn. Diallo attests that DSK assaulted her in his hotel room while she was on the clock, forcing her to perform oral sex on him. As one of the most powerful men in France (if not the world) ... Read More
