I can’t even go into detail about how much I hate Terry Richardson. If you have somehow missed the seemingly endless list of allegations of sexual assault, you must live under a rock of denial. This guy is a grade-A creep and gives such a bad name to fashion photography, it taints the whole industry in my opinion. His photos also exhibit little to no technical skill or actual taste.

I once met a female construction worker. When discussing her job, she actually teared up. Not only is she paid less than her male peers because she physically cannot lift as much as many of them can, but she also faces sexual harassment on a daily basis; she is called “weak” and “a little girl,” and she hid the fact that she was gay for fear of bullying.

According to the New York legal firm Clifford Chance, female lawyers and staffers need to tone down their feminine “quirks.” In a memo addressed only to female employees, the firm instructed women on everything from speech patterns to proper attire.
Much of the advice might be helpful to any young associate; for example, they advise “[projecting] power,” not using the word “like,” or “[dropping] your ... Read More

Women’s position in Egyptian society has become so dire that they are disappearing from the public sphere just so they don’t have to deal with men. The sexual harassment and assault that occurs everyday has dramatically increased within the past year, most likely due to interior instability.
After the Arab Spring, Egypt has really been in political and social limbo, and the women are suffering most of all - an environment with an undercurrent of ... Read More

But this week, activists all over the world want to let everyone know that any form of street harassment is not okay. It’s a TGIF miracle: heartening, pro-woman news straight out of New Delhi. Eight female cab drivers in Delhi are trying their best to protect women from sexual violence and harassment with a fleet of seven ladies-only vehicles. Their business, Cabs for Women by Women, caters to moderately affluent women who can afford a cab, but don’t have a car or chauffeur of their own. Even before the gang rape and subsequent death of a 23-year-old in December, New ... Read More

“Blondes make the best victims,” Alfred Hitchcock once said. “They’re like virgin snow that shows up the bloody footprints.”
So begins The Girl, HBO’s deeply (and rightly) gnarly exploration of the fraught relationship between Hitchcock and arguably the most legendary of his blonde ingénues, Tippi Hedren (Sienna Miller).Having happened upon the lovely Hedren in a TV commercial, “Hitch” (Toby Jones, best known ... Creep alert! In Brockport, New York, there is a not-so-new creep in town. The small town is home to Mr. Thomas Mangan, and Mr. Mangan is a busy, busy man.
On Sunday, August 26, 2012, two females were sunbathing in bikinis on their front yard. Upon seeing the two young ladies, Mr. Mangan could not help taking pictures of their “crotch” (his word) from inside his house. Once he had his pictures, he walked over to the ... Read More
