In today's New York Times, Kim Elsesser makes the case that the Academy Awards should get over their damn selves and blend all of the acting categories so there is no longer a "Best Actress" and a "Best Actor." It's not a new idea--feminists have been suggesting it for decades. But my feeling is: Who cares?
I just can't get worked up about this issue when I think about the fact that there have only been thirty-five women in the Senate. Ever. Where's the NYT ... Read More

An old friend of mine just emailed me the ad above, for a bizarre product called "Mr. Leggs." Unfortunately, the copy is too small to read here, but I did find it on another website. Apparently, it reads:
Though she was a tiger lady, our hero didn’t have to fire a shot to floor her. After one look at his Mr. Leggs slacks, she was ready to have him walk all over her. That noble styling sure soothes the savage heart! If you’d like your own doll-to-doll ... Read More

People, did you know that men are being oppressed in our society? This clip on Men's Inequality from the Daily Show's Samantha Bee last night is so on point. We need to help men get what they need and help them reclaim their manhood, and Samantha dares to go into the wisdom circle of the male support group and get real with our oppressed brothers.

I just had to post this awesome clip from this weeks SNL as it combines four of my favorite things; Dream Catchers, Andy Samberg, John Hamm and my loathing of Saxophone playing. Enjoy!

Check out this video of Karin Dreijer Andersson aka Fever Ray accepting an award in Sweden for best dance record. Known for never showing her face, I love how she keeps outdo-ing herself each time she goes on stage, this makes it sooo much more interesting, don't you think? This woman makes Gaga look positively tame! (plus her music is 100x more interesting, IMHO) LOVE IT.

I actually have a V-Card. No joke. When I was high school a really terrible abstinence only program called Aim For Success invaded my school. They were kind enough to inform us that if we had sex we would be like dirty, used toothbrushes and no one would want to use us again. They passed out actual Abstinence Pledge cards for us to sign (and if you didn't sign you were probably a God-hating, disease-ridden slut). But I think my favorite ... Read More

I'm a bad driver. I speed. I take turns too fast. I tailgate the hell out of that idiot with the "No Fat Chicks" sticker on his bumper. And yes, the dance party to Lady GaGa IS more important to me than putting on my blinker. I have no problem admitting these are bad driving behaviors. However, while general aggressiveness and an unabashed love for pop techno may be contributing factors to this problem- the fact that I have a vag is ... Read More

Back when we were looking to make some decorations for the BUST Holiday Craftacular here in NYC, we hit on some great instructions for how to make some slammin' snowflakes. Our intern, Clare, made a bunch of these to hang around the space, and they were such a hit that folks kept asking all day how we made them.
Well, we're about to share our secret below. Watch Intern Clare as she takes a few pieces of paper, makes a couple of snips, and then with a stick ... Read More
