Yesterday my friends and I were joking on Facebook (shut up) about Terry Gross's Fresh Air interview with Melissa Febos, author of Whip Smart: Memoirs of a Dominatrix. In today's New York Times, Kim Elsesser makes the case that the Academy Awards should get over their damn selves and blend all of the acting categories so there is no longer a "Best Actress" and a "Best Actor." It's not a new idea--feminists have been suggesting it for decades. But my feeling is: Who cares?
