Knit this?

BY Gail in General |

We came across this picture in the Yellow Paint "Stand Out" book the other day and totally loved it. It's creepy and knitty and strangely sexy, and needless to say, very BUST-y.Are there real people under there? Are they mannequins? How did they get into the knit suits? They look like men, but they're all wrapped in pink. And though you can't see their faces, their body language is so sad.The photo is by Joshua Dalsimer, who may be familiar ... Read More
The Golden Girls has always been one of my favorite shows. Even as a pre-teen I could somehow relate to these older ladies. I was fascinated with Dorothy and Sophia’s relationship, so open and honest. The show has always made me look forward to getting old, to wearing sweaters all the time, living with my best friends and always having a pie on hand. And yes, still getting laid! Estelle Getty (Sophia) passed away this morning. Already youtube is being ... Read More
Tara was LoL-ing her face off over this video. As soon as I saw it I had a crazy baby flash back. I could have sworn I had LoL-ed over this kid before. Turns out it was a completely different kid incased in glass.  I found this video while looking for songs for the Gangsta Baby Showa that I told you guys about before. This is Lil John at his best. I don’t know what I love more: the George Bush with baby clip, turkey baby, or the rappers faces on ... Read More
Those of us trapped in the suburban outposts of NYC could only dream of that shining city where a mystery seemed to lurk around every corner. Hands up, who else planned to run away to a museum? Fans of E.L. Konisburg's classic and those who love of New York City history, a taste for mystery and appreciation of kickass, multitalented teen heroines should try the Kiki Strike series by Kirsten Miller. Ananka Fishbein seems like a hopeless case, with poor grades and ... Read More

When I was a kid, my eccentric and most creative aunt in Oregon hung these visually appealing, but somewhat disturbing framed prints of little kids with big eyes, and sad faces in her bathroom...  So, every time I had to use the loo at her house, I felt these "Keane" images were staring directly at me.  Sometimes I would try to imagine what was going on in these big-eyed, little kids world, and why they were all so sad?    It ...    Alright busty ladies.  I got my issue last Friday, and I am so pleased. I have poured over the pages and even managed to translate some of the editorial (woohoo for 6 years of Latin!) I’m just pleased with everything, from the piece on the Obamas (I’ve got a total girl crush on Michelle) to seeing a big pic of Lena Horne.  Maybe I’ll write a thank you letter to Franca Sozzani because I’m seriously thinking this woman ...
