Fall is in the air, my friends! That is to say...I am officially wearing a sweater because it is actually chilly out and not because I only own cardigans! There is something about this seasonal change that always gives me a little creative boost. The laziness and slowness of summer officially give way to an inner desire to become Martha Stewart. So enough with these metaphors! Let's get to the good stuff and make cute things out of felt!!!

In my opinion, one of the absolute coolest things about BUST is that it embraces “girlie feminism” (in fact, the magazine and its founders came up with the whole concept). It’s so important to remember that a gal who likes stereotypically “girlie” things, from crafting and knitting to ponies and pink, can be just as powerful as a man who likes stereotypically manly things. She can, in fact, derive her power and sense of self in ... Read More

Though it's roughly 8 billion degrees in NYC right now, it's time to start thinking about winter...and more specifically, about BUST Magazine's Holiday Craftacular and Food Fair, our city's largest, best-attended, and arguably most fun craft extravaganza!
On Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15, over 250 vendors of fancy foods, eclectic vintage, and handmade gifts and goods will set up shop at the Metropolitan Pavilion (125 West 18th St. between 6th and ... Read More

Courtney Love is unsmotable. As Hole’s frontwoman and Kurt Cobain’s wife, Love was the leading lady of ‘90s grunge. Since then, she has gone through her fair share of highs and lows, from punching Kathleen Hanna in the face to being the muse of Givenchy designer Ricardo Tisci. Now, she has a bunch of other projects on her plate ... including tons of "crafty shit."
Love's just like the rest of us - she's promoting her clothing ... Read More

Maggie from the BUST Magazine Craftacular team here! We just wrapped up applications for our annual pop-up Craftacular at World Maker Faire--and let me tell you, it's gonna be good.
One of the things I love most about my job is reviewing the wide array of gorgeous handmade products that our applicants submit each year. Every time I think I've seen all the soaps, screenprints, sodas, and sandals out there, a crafter surprises me with a fresh, interesting design and ... Read More

Holy knit! The Andy Warhol Bridge is covered in beautiful yarn! This past weekend, more than 1,800 volunteer knitters covered Pittsburgh, PA’s Warhol Bridge in 580 blanket-sized panels of yarn. In total, volunteers used up about 3,000 feet in vibrant yarn, which feature an array of colorful designs. The hand-knit panels cover the pedestrian walkway of the downtown Pittsburgh bridge and larger knit panels cover the bridge’s towers.A few of the panels ... Read More

HOW many times have you said to yourself, “I love watching Golden Girls reruns, but I wish I could take it one step further—if only I had a safe space where I could dream up my own Dorothy Zbornak zingers and Blanche Devereaux double entendres, and maybe lay a tiny plastic cheesecake on the kitchen island?” Well, get ready, because your dreams are about to come true for the extremely reasonable price of $175. Thanks, Etsy!

I love when I know that the things I put into and onto my body are 100% au naturel. Now, I’m not necessarily an angel when it comes to this, I do make an effort and when that effort involves fun, crafty ideas about how to make your own makeup, I swoon.
This recipe for all-natural eyeliner is both cheap and easy, some other things I like my makeup to be. The only thing you’ll have to buy to make it is activated charcoal. I know, it sounds a ... Read More

“There are few things finer than drunk jewelry making,” said someone famous. Maybe it was Benjamin Franklin. Maybe it was me just now. (I am very famous and important.) Whoever it was, there’s definite truth to that statement. That’s why we’re totally pumpedfor Brooklyn Winery and Brooklyn Charm's design-your-own-jewelry event.Brooklyn Charm, a boutique jewelry design studio located in the heart of Williamsburg, is hosting a basic ...
