My favorite thing about hearing Samantha Bee do a not-reading in Bryant Park was when somebody asked her what it was like to be a female correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. God bless her pregnant self, she said it was hard. Just like being a man on the show. And I got it on tape. Having BS’d my way through many a close-reading paper in my college Shakespeare class, I know that some, not all, but of Shakespeare’s more well know female characters are complete pushovers. (At least in modern terms.)
