This day of learning will bring together organizations and activists dedicated to advancing educational and health services for trans youth. We will screen parts of a powerful new film, Gun Hill Road, to spark a stimulating and informative discussion. Workshop activities and discussions will be facilitated by PPNYC trainers and our colleagues from The Transgender Family Program at Community Healthcare Network, The Adolescent AIDS Program at Montefiore Health Center, and educators from the Hetrick-Martin Institute. At the end of this forum, participants will be able to: better understand experiences trans youth may have; identify program and health care referrals for trans youth, their families, and allies; and implement an action plan to create an organizational environment supportive of all genders and gender expressions.
All trainings take place at Planned Parenthood of New York City, 26 Bleecker Street, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10012.
