 From the fashionable lady cyclists of
the 1890s to the politically motivated Suffragette Scouts of Edwardian times,
biking has long been associated with the
emancipation of women. The Women’s Library at the London
Metropolitan University is recognizing women’s special bond
with two-wheelers through an exhibition that explores the
politics of women’s cycling in late 19th- and early 20th-
century Britain.
