The Power Of Women Minding The Dance: Compassion, Stewardship And Unconditional Commitment (NYC) ( 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm )
Often, women in dance are seen as muses rather than creators. What happens if we turn the conversation to women’s inherent strength and the power of compassion and stewardship? What if both men and women could be seen as muses, creators and everything in between? What would that mean for the future of dance, its institutions, our social health and declining funds for the arts? Dakin, a world-renowned Martha Graham dancer and teacher, talks with Peila, the head of Dance New Amsterdam, which supports dance and culture in lower Manhattan , and Dawn Paap of Video Dance TV.

Date: Fri, Jun 6, 2014, 8 pm
