It's been awhile since we've heard any new music from the feminist punk legend (half a year to be exact), but it was well worth the wait. "Oh Come On" is a high-energy, fuzzed out punk song that showcases the Bikini Kill members' talents that we've come to love so deeply. (Kathi Wilcox of BK is slappin' da bass, while drummer Carmine Covelli, guitarist Sara Landeau, and keyboardist Kenny Mellman cover the rest of the bases in the Julie Ruin.) Hanna's powerful yelp-screams elicits responses from fellow band members, ranging from equally angsty shouting to the mellow, repeated chorus of "Oh, come on." After a struggle with lyme disease that kept Hanna out of the game for quite a bit, we couldn't be happier to hear this piece of lo-fi goodness. Run Fast will hit the shelves September 3rd via TJR Records and will be distributed by Dischord Records. Keep an eye out for tour dates because your favorite punks are hitting the road this fall!
