I recently got my own apartment (yay me!), and I'm super excited about the possibilities. I plan to stay a while and want it to be colorful and fun. The furniture is in place, and the details are slowly coming together. I'm not crazy about the floors, so I've been agonizing over rugs the past few weeks. My absolute favorite option from Urban Outfitters just sold out and I'm pretty bummed. Since then, I've been scouring NYC for something colorful with a retro vibe. ... Read More
I recently came in contact with Beauty Without Cruelty. I was drawn to their array of colorful lipsticks and, of course, the idea of all-natural beauty. I found out their products are 100% vegetarian and 100% natural. The company was actually founded by an animal welfare organization, so you know they're legit. Naturally, their mantra is all in the name. They sent over a few products and I'd like to tell you a little about products ... Read More
Since the last event curated by Jill Sternheimer, I've been praying and hoping for another Girl Group show. I am crazy about doo-wop and the Girl Group sound so I jumped at the chance to review the newest Girl Group Spectacular at B.B. King. Before I even got there, I knew it would be great.  On the day of the show, it definitely did not disappoint! I made sure to dress to the nines in my Girl Group attire and raised my bouffant to new heights. Sufficient to ... Read More
I was recently sent some beauty products from a company called FACEFACTS BY Lori. It's a company that specializes in hand-crafted lip products, using all natural and certified organic ingredients. I love my lipsticks so I was excited to test these out! All natural has become a new priority for me, especially for lip stuff since I basically end up eating it by the end of the day. These specific lipsticks by FACEFACTS are neat because, among other things, ... Read More
I used to get all sorts of giddy at the thought of summer camp so, of course, I'm extra excited for the camp-esque launch party of she and reverie's spring/summer 2014 collection, appropriately titled "Camp Versailles."  The lifestyle lounge collection is crafted in Brooklyn from soft knits, washed silks and adorable details like merit badges and delicate lace.   While adulthood has its perks, we generally like to have our glitter cupcakes and eat ... One of my favorite bloggers, Izzy of YeYe Style, has recently put out a fabulous lookbook for her vintage shop, Yeye Vintage. Shot by my talented friend Mary Elam, the lookbook is pure flower power chic. Most of Izzy's items are vintage, but a few special looks were created by hand, such as the psychedelic two-piece below and the blue floral printed dress called "the Rosemary dress" She also designed the earrings, which are available in limited quantities. I'm ... Read More
It's almost summer, which is the perfect time to share this adorable, Coney Island lookbook from designer Julie Mollo. Mollo is one of my favorite independent designers. She's cute as a button and her style reflects that as she designs whimsical circle skirts and bold accessories for girls unfraid of colorful fashion. Created to showcase her circle skirt line, this lookbook is perfectly summer-ready and the skirts are so cute, ... When it comes to music festivals, there's always Coachella, Austin City Limits and SXSW, but there's one festival I look forward to every year and that's NYC Popfest. If you're a fan of indie pop or just like the idea of a smaller-scale festival with amazing bands, it's definitely a festival you should explore. It takes place May 30th-June 2nd with about 30 bands playing in a variety of NYC venues. Friends and music lovers gather from all over the world for ... Read More
Andrea Diodati’s Fall 2013 collection, titled The White Fall, is a collection made up of cotton candy separates and sugary sweet styling. In NYC’s lovely All Souls Chapel, the scene was set with sparkling lemonade, pink cotton candy via Handsome Dan’s and a live performance by songstress and pianist, Nibia. The styling of the models and overall vibe of the show were initially reminiscent of Meadham Kirchhoff S/S’12, but the show soon took ... Read More
I'm a big fan of the everyday cat-eye and this tutorial is long over due. With help from Jason Hood, I'm excited to finally share my cat-eye process. I've put together a tutorial for an easy way to recreate this look. This is my first video tutorial so bear with me and some of my ramblings. Hope you enjoy! For some added glamour, here are a few cat-eyed vixens who inspire me.  Ronnie Spector: My ultimate beauty ... Read More
