2014 may just be the year in which our favorite pop divas start working together instead of trying to tear each other apart, or at least I hope it is! While you were primping for your New Year’s Eve party, Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera made a major power play.

After their epic duet on The Voice (see below), Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera released a studio version of “Do What U Want” at midnight on New Year’s Eve.  Lady Gaga received heavy criticism, especially from those within the feminist community, for originally recording the sexually charged song with R.Kelly and hiring Terry Richardson to direct the video. Both R.Kelly and Richardson have faced sexual assault allegations in the past.

I’ve been jamming out to the new release all day. Check out the live performance and studio version below! Do you think replacing R.Kelly with Christina Aguilera was a good idea?
