ooh! a celtic music session sounds fun! what does that involve?
i think i've caught a cold. yesterday my throat was quite sore, so i took a little teaspoon of honey and that seemed to help. same with last night - hurt to swallow so i took another bit of honey. i think it's just super dry at work and a little bit at home. i hope it doesn't go further than that and i plan to rest and relax the whole day today. fiddler, you must be heading into your second trimester soon, if not already? i heard that's when energy levels start going up. happy sunday to everyone! |

I'm feeling better. Thanks for asking. I still have my moments of "can't move a muscle or I'm going to puke" feeling but it's not 24/7 anymore. It's only a coupla times a day and doesn't last all day. Whew. I'm still pretty tired and nap every day but that's okay. I felt like I had a good day today because I did two loads of laundry plus two loads of dishes in the dishwasher and led my usual Friday night Celtic music session in town. I'm pretty tired now but I feel happy that I actually got something (anything is better than nothing) done today.

ha ha ha, yeah, i kind of figured it was bloat. but i can't wait for it to be baby.
right now, i'm looking forward to getting through tomorrow at work, and then relaxing for a few days. on the couch, covered in blankets. my low back is hurting a lot right now, actually. well, i have a bad back anyways, and my posture as a result of work last week is the culprit, i think. i've heard of women who have back problem before pregnancy and during pregnancy their back issues seem to go away...i can only hope that will be my case. how have you been feeling, fiddler? |

lol. your belly probably is bigger. But, it's not your baby, it's bloating. How romantic, huh? Your body is increasing its fluid level right now to support your pregnancy. So, yes, your belly is bigger.
during my first month or so of pregnancy, my lower back hurt all the time, like it does before my period. that let up when the morning sickness set in. i hope you don't get morning sickness but if you do, try ginger. also, i have something that i got at my local health food store that works pretty well. i don't remember what it's called but if you ask, i'll find the name for you. relax, cuddle up with your significant other and think of baby names, go to bed early, take a warm (not hot) bath, go for walks, and don't worry. you and your baby are probably just fine. fiddler -------------------- Everybody loves the truck!

thanks fiddler!
i just hope that all my worrying thus far hasn't caused any damage! it was just that first week of finding out i'm pregnant and for a few days into the next week. plus, having family here over the holidays added an extra little bit of stress. however, i am really going to try and focus on all the good things and try to relax. yesterday and for the next couple of days at work it's going to be busy, but after that, i hope things slow down. ha ha ha, i think i read somewhere on here not to read "what to expect". so, that definately won't be on my list if it's going to make me panic even more. i heard of a book called "panic-free pregnancy" - which sounds like something i might want to read. i have been looking at different sites - i'm sure i've been to pregnancy.org. babycentre.?? also has some interesting info, too. i am honestly looking forward to growing a belly (and i am convinced already that i've started) and experiencing all the aches and pains of being pregnant. |

welcome to the club!
yes, as far as i can tell, it's pretty normal to worry about every little thing - especially if this is your first time. while it's normal, it's not necessarily healthy. whatever will be will be. whatever you do, don't read the book 'what to expect'. it will scare you about every step you take. do what you can to relax. take naps if you're tired. eat things that are good for you. you can get online and find all sorts of info (good and otherwise). i'm having fun at the pregnancy.org website. there you can meet other women who are due in the same month that you are. anyway . . . glad you're here. fiddler -------------------- Everybody loves the truck!

hi everyone - and happy holidays to you all!
i was on here a while ago, asking about pregnancy symptoms for very early on...turns out i wasn't pregnant then, but i am now. physically, i've been feeling okay - i was exhausted yesterday (not sure if it was family just leaving after a few days of visiting or the pregnancy). but mentally and emotionally - i have been worrying about everything! i'm a pretty cautious person normally - but now, everything i do or have done, i worry about it. (i'm sure seeing my doctor will help). i try to relax and think calm thoughts - but every now and then, i think of something and wonder if the baby is okay. any of you experience this? i'm sure it's normal during pregnancy, esp for first time moms to be. anyway - hope you all are well! |

Hi Blanche,
I've noticed that I have more periods of time when I feel nearly human. Still having plenty of time feeling totally yucky though. I'm still not allowing any caffeine. I'm prone to UTI's and even asparagus, which has a mild diuretic affect, makes my bladder cramp. The tired is beginning to let up a little too. I'm so relieved. My mood, on the other hand, is all over the map. I'm starting to feel like I'm crazy. Grrr. . . Hormones. I'm almost finished with the shopping stuff I have to do for the holidays. I'm so glad. I just want to stay home where it's warm and quiet. fiddler -------------------- Everybody loves the truck!

oh i'm sorry Lindsey. i had a faint line too but then nothing, and then my period. am feeling alright now but I know it does really suck to get your hopes up and then feeling like your body isn't playing ball.
I'll be popping into the Childless not by Choice thread now and again if I see any posts, maybe see you in there? At times when I've been low I find it really encouraging reading others' stories in the archives and seeing all the Busties (including the lovely Fiddler who spent a long time in there) who tried harder and longer, but now have babies for their avatars (I am assuming that they are their babies and they didn't just borrow one for a quick photo opp!) Despite my reluctance to chart and stuff, I did buy some ovulation tests on amazon - mainly because I wanted cheap pg tests and they came as a mixed pack. Should be fun (I am easily impressed by science stuff such as peesticks) and as we will be spending Christmas with my partner's family (sleeping on the living room floor) sex may be hard to fit in, so might be handy to know when we absolutely MUST do it). Also my cycles are less predictable than before the m/c so would be good to see if/when everything's happening as it should. Sorry for long post in wrong thread, I'll check out now. Fiddler, just wanted to say thanks for your support, and hope you are feeling less of a sicko in time to eat some good stuff this Christmas! |

Oh, Lindsey - I'm sorry. That sucks. Sometimes women bleed when their period was due and they're still pregnant. Can you see your doc for a blood test?

any news Lindsey? Nothing for me this month but that's OK, I'm just chilling and looking forward to the holidays. I can wait a little longer. Christmas will be a great opportunity for lots of trying! Beck, Sorry to hear. Christmas is a great time to try! Good luck hun! Had two lines on the 11 (period was due on the 8-9) The test line was very faint. Was very excited and then bam... That night I started bleeding really really heavily. Haven't been on for a couple days because it's been hard to know others are pregnant and I am not. -------------------- Leafy!

fiddler- at 10weeks, I was totally showing. i'm SO shortwaisted that it just POPPED. Luckily, it was summer, and i was into flowy tops. Its just how your body handles the changing shape.

Ok, so I'm what? 9-10 weeks pregnant. Yup. Today someone told me that I look pregnant. Uh. . . thanks? I know my regular pants don't fit anymore but they didn't fit from the get go. I know I'm changing shape but for someone who doesn't live IN my body to notice that I'm anything other than bloated is sort of . . . I don't know. I felt proud and fat. I don't think I should be showing yet. Hmmm. . .

ah, prenatal yoga. it's a good thing. yes. i think i'll find a prenatal workout and begin that. i'd like to go to a prenatal yoga class but right now, i'm not going anywhere really. by the time i get into town, i'm too tired to interact or enjoy whatever i'm there for. i'll give it a coupla more weeks. by then, i should begin to have more energy.
thanks for the support. fiddler -------------------- Everybody loves the truck!

sweet girl, feel better!
are you taking your fatty acids? they are so good at keeping your mood up. in your case though it sounds like you could use something extra. have you thought of homeopathics or bach flower remedies? they helped me a lot with little's pregnancy. i also did some meditaion avec bebe that was wonderful for giving me a sense of well being and connection with the baby. i don't have the name of the book anymore but if you google unborn child exercises and connecting with the unborn child and stuff like that i'm sure you'll find lots of stuff. there were meditations to do in the tub, envisioning your baby floating in his or her warm, wet ocean of mama and writing and speaking exercises. it was really cool and made me feel really good. another thing is exercise. i know that you aren't feeling well but how about some gentle workouts? the endorphins make you feel so wonderful.. |
