xeroxblue, I have considered those problems. I do my best to limit myself to ethically-produced porn, just as I do all consumer products & art. I come from a family of labour activists, though: there are half a dozen industries off the top of my head with bigger employee abuse problems than the porn I buy. That's not to say that there aren't horrible, exploitative pornographers out there, just that porn isn't the only industry in which such abuses are rife. I'm not going to entirely stop wearing clothes, even though it's likely the models and seamsters/seamstresses were treated less-than-ethically in their making.

epinephrine: I 've been a member of both sites for almost 4 years. puretna this month has a new pop-up that opens every time I close their window. I block it with StopZilla. Apart from that, I've never received any spam from either. Because the downloads are torrents, there's little (if any) risk of virii. I;ve certainly never had one in 5+ years of torrenting anything.

I had heard stories of violence and demoralization, but nothing to the scale that this foundation reveals. I listened to some interviews with ex-porn stars and I was really horrified, sickened, saddened.

I used to really enjoy porn - I love any and all things that awaken my sensuality and involves being free with one's body, and sex. boy, is it so fun!

But listening to the testimonials made me feel as though watching porn is really witnessing the emotional, physical, and mental abuse of young girls who got into the business because they were damaged to begin with.

It makes me sad. And confused. If I watch porn, I want to know that the people involved are enjoying what they are doing, doing everything by choice, are safe and treated well. Otherwise, I think I'm done with it.

Ok, here's one I liked. Not particularly erotic, just straight up fucking with a horrible sloppy porno kiss at the end, but damn, that guy looks like he's worth fucking. I think both sites use the category gay/bi/male for browsing. Many of that niche are indeed brazilian. I've seen a few that had good-looking actors and production values, but it does seem there's an inordiante amount of dreck in that category.

There are also waaaay too many DP vids with women who clearly don't enjoy it. One of the darker edges of porn, IMO.
