I love Starbuck way too much for a television character, and I truly hope that they have something planned down the road that makes tonight's episode worthwhile. Her destiny has to be greater than just dying. Hell, Kat got a better sendoff. And she sucked. No fracking way that's the end of her story. My fear is... she's the secret Cylon. Any takers? -------------------- |

Oh this thread hurts me. It hurts me! This is the one show that I really miss from cancelling my cable. And I peaked in here and read a spoiler that has me all in a tizzy
Does anyone know when BSG Season 3 will be on DVD? -------------------- In times of destruction, create something.

Right on, I love this show. Though I haven't caught much of the season, it's on a bad night for me.
Never got in to Cally, either. Luv the pres. She is strong and hot! I also like Starbuck and Apollo. But the love triangle drama bored me a bit. I was like come on I want to see some more action. I also really like the Tom Jane(I think that's his name?) character, I wish we could see more of him on the show. Sad Lucy Lawless is out of the picture for awhile. -------------------- -We are here on Earth to fart around. Don't let anybody tell you any different.

look's like we've got a horse race then, kids!
sidecar, i agree with you on the cally thing, and i agree with someone who said last week's ep was resolved too quickly. the best eps are the ones that are woven into the show's mythology, not the 'one-offs' my ep with the best idea ruined by it being a one off was the aids ep. the one offs bug me in any serialized show because it seems lazy. and this show was anything but for a lot of it's life. and i agree with the adama/rosilyn thing, but i think she's pretty hot to begin with. i'm glad the starbuck love triangle thing is over too. -------------------- "what a swell farewell party! we said goodbye to everything, including the lining in my stomach." - garvey, from the film, born bad "That's one career all females have in common, whether we like it or not: being a woman. Yay! A BSG thread! I love this show so very very much. Although the last 3 episodes have sort of worn me thin. Best part of last weeks episode was hands-down Baltar talking about his home world Aerolon.

Well...even though it didn't start under preferred circumstances, I'd love to see the Battlestar thread pick up, because I love it. It's such a great show -- good acting, good action scenes and so smart and political.
I wasn't nuts about last week's episode; I thought the acting was good (I really like Chief Tyrol) and the discussion of worker's rights and working conditions was interesting, plus I've enjoyed the thread this year about class differences within the fleet. That being said, I had a really hard time buying that anyone would take anything Gaius Balthar says seriously. It's been proven several times on that show that he'll do anything to save his ass, and I think that's been shown to the fleet (what with his own election, his own former elite status, the fact that he was crooked and inefficient even before he sold out to the Cylons...). I don't buy Cally, who was on the death list that Balthar signed, reading his book and being inspired by it, or anyone else for that matter. It was a huge logical leap to ask us to take, and it colored the whole episode for me. I also am starting to sympathize with the Cally-haters, and it's not the actress as much as it seems her character, every damn weeks, makes the stupidest possible decisions. She's being written like Kim Bauer from 24. I do like anything involving Adama and Roslin, as I'm pretty sure they secretly got married on New Caprica, and that'll be an upcoming flashback. |

hey jan, i love battlestar, i agree it's one of the best shows on right now, but....
part of the reason there is so little reply is that we have a certain protocol at the lounge for starting threads. i figure you're a newbee and don't know. so here is the deal: in the lounge there are no moderators. because of that, we have to do things in a certain way to make sure that things don't turn into a mess. so just starting a thread is frowned upon. if you want to start a thread, first post something in the community forum thread nominating your idea for a new thread. this will tell you if there are enough people who share your interest. but first you have to get the community ok. part of the problem with random threads being started by anyone, is that usually it's done by trolls. and in the lounge trolls are to be ignored. unfortunatelya i think your thread title may lead some to believe you are one of the occasional pornbots that post. anyways, i encourage you to try again by post something in the community thread. as a big fan of battlestar i'd love to see a thread devoted to it. best wishes, gt -------------------- "what a swell farewell party! we said goodbye to everything, including the lining in my stomach." - garvey, from the film, born bad "That's one career all females have in common, whether we like it or not: being a woman. Hey, does anyone watch Battlestar Galactica on the sci-fi channel? I don't have cable TV so I just caught it recently on DVD from the library. It's the best show ever on TV! Female presidents (Mary McDonnell!??!!) - chick fighter pilots & COs - cute boys and SO MUCH MORE :: )~ Plus they always use cool phrases such as "Oh my GODS (yes, plural) cuz ya see, ALL GODS are recognized...I could go on, but in summation, this show is too good to be true & I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming after seeing it
