When I took over LL duties, I didn't realize the ladies of the Lounge and the magazine's readers were such distinct entities (something the editors were quick to let me know when they realized I put up this thread).

it actually makes me really happy to learn that the powers that be are aware of this distinction. a lot of times we lounge rats feel like bust's least favorite children--expected to uphold the name of the family, but not really thrown any bones. at the same time, it's really great to have such an unstructured space that has become exactly what we've made it, without unwanted interference from parties that are not as involved and dedicated as we are and who may have quite different agendas.

that said, this thread wasn't intended as a discussion on how the lounge is different than the mag, and i will keep up the good bustie tradition of Not Derailing Existing Threads New LL, welcome, and thanks for putting up with the "welcome" BS one gets when one doesn't thoroughly research our little internet frankenstein monster before posting.

ok, I'm going to guess that a bustie (as in a board member) is someone who takes an interest in the world around them - who is happy to share thier knowledge when they can, but equally happy to learn from others, widen thier horizons, and admit mistakes.
