I agree that the in-fighting - especially the vicious personal attacks - poisons the entire community. But ... well, I think that if people want to fight, then they will do it no matter how anyone else feels. But by keeping the arguments to one thread, it is extremely easy for the majority to avoid it. That was my motivation in suggesting the creation of the "Outside" thread in the first place. Frankly, it's been a relief for me to know that I can avoid most of the vicious bickering. I come to Bust to enjoy the warmth, love, and caring that is the real heart of this community - qualities that still exist here. But it is easy for many of us to forget that when so many threads are filled with so many hateful words.

Fights can get pretty messy, but sometimes things have to get uglier before they can get better. I haven't been reading things in the "Outside" thread, but it sounds as though some of the heated discussions may have resulted in genuine apologies (based upon what I've seen in the Sorry thread in ATWT). That was another goal that I secretly had for the "Outside" thread - that people would have a place to air their greivances and, with a little work, they might come to an understanding. Of course, the thread is now in the community's posession so it is whatever the community makes of it, but I will still hold onto the hope that its creation will have a positive affect on the community.

I agree that the fight thread was a bad idea, although it seems to be doing better now than it was at the start.

I just don't understand how people can say "so and so fight is between me and them, so butt out" when we're on a public message board. If it's truly between two people it should be taken to PM and if both parties don't want anyone else invovled they should inform people that it HAS been taken to PM.

i am actually writing this in the hopes you'll maybe think twice and realize that you are respected and admired more than you know. you have much to contribute here. i would never in a million years think you'd stoop this low. i'm floored, saddened and bewildered.

and no, i'm not 'taking sides' and playing the clique game. i don't think bunny was right in bringing your name up in the first place. (sorry, bunny.) but i have no doubts that with your command of the language, you could've expressed your resentment just fine, with no need of threats & spitting mad fury.
