I'm sure that what I'm gonna say has already been discussed on countless posts, but I'm still freaking out about the toilet paper harvesting bacteria. Please be careful when in restrooms or even your own home. These harmful bacteria are hanging around somewhere. We are just the unlucky few that have weak immunce systems and can't fight them off fast enough before everything else gets back in balance. Do you all think that simple soap and water and laundry soap can kill this stuff? I sure as hell hope so. I'm becoming germophobic. Many women have this bv, and are nasty, don't wash their hands..blah blah blah....

Horizon drugs was one I had saved in my favorites for some reason. And now that you all are talking about it, I think you're right. It took me along time to get it. I think I had to finally send an email to Customer Service, and then I finally got it, or I cancelled it?? I don't remember.
But there's tons of places online that you can buy it. Some have the 500mg some have less. I personally like the 500mg. I have the 200 as well, but it doesn't seem to work as good. I've been stressing alot latey, hence the messages back and forth...been feeling or think I was smelling the B.V. coming back, however, had sex last night, AND ZERO SMELL. So....I agree with the whole stress thing. I think we worry so much about this shit, that we can smell it in our heads!!!! |

Just here to vent my confusion about lactobacillus bacteria...they secrete hydrogen perioxide and lactic acid. When people are sick or in high stress abnormal levels of this acid are found in the body....it's bad on the body because it wants to maintain a more basic ph 7.35-7.45 and it has to work harder. But in our smelly cats, we are having problems keeping this good bacteria...WTF? Shouldn't it be easier to keep em if we are always stressed about our stinch??? What does this other bacteria that is supossed to be (bad )secrete do scienctist even know since some of these bacteria don't even have a name yet???
Science now can grow football fields of peoples skin in labs....I want some of my own lactobacillus bacteria reproduced and inserted back in my kitty!!!!!!! |

Hi there, before you bookmark the horizon drugs website...I ordered from them in March and still have not received anything, so I ordered from another company and received them yesterday... so dont use horizon drugs Hello Sciongal.. Yes, that does sound like a problem with you not receiving your order in a timely matter. If this is a pattern with this company I probably should look into another company.. Thanks for the warning.. -------------------- BVGIRL
GOD BLESS YOU ALL...... I will be around...... |

I actually knew this before I took the Clindesse. But I figured "My doctor is so damn good, he couldn't possibly screw me over." Well, he did. I'll have to tell him what I know now. Its just a tragedy that its too late for me. I actually almost didn't take the Clindesse and almost requested a script for Flagyl but as I said, I trusted my doctor. I should have trusted my gut instinct. Not to put you on the spot, Morphia, but aren't you taking flagyl now? And you told us it's not working. You even said you knew it wouldn't work even before you took it. But then it's a "tragedy" that you took clindamycin? Geez, you're so overdramatic. Look girl, I'm not trying to make fun of you. But your hysteria is kind of entertaining. You read one sentence from some website and you're freaking out on the "verge of tears." The way you're always this close to popping a vein is really quite funny. But seriously, you're not doing yourself a lot of favors. Everyone's goal in here is to become healthy, and beat this thing, and I wish the same for you. It really makes me feel bad for you to see you get so worked up over what is probably nothing. You need a vacation from your vagina. (Well, I guess we all could use one.) -------------------- |

I guess taking vit.C supplements are also a good idea. That is so nice of you, Aggravated! Maybe you could ask her about Clindamycin. Seems a few ladies are upset about having taken it. I'd like to know more about it, too. Yes, please ask about the Clindamycin. That is a HUGE concern of mine....Clearly. lol. |

Please go to the doctor first. I strongly suggest that you ALWAYS go to the doctor to make damn sure that it is what you think it is. When I feel symptoms I KNOW its bv but I make a doctors appointment just so I can hear him say it. Besides, I know there is still plenty of room for me to be wrong. I totally agree with this. So, I'm not fasting, but I have been eating no/low sugar diet....and I am drinking lots of very lemony water, which I find quite yummy, and I feel better!! I was itchy and uncomfortable 2 days ago, and a few bucks worth of lemons and I swear I feel a difference. I can see how the vitamin c plus the acidity are both helpful in fighting BV. I am traveling in asia so my treatment options are really limited. But when life gives you lemons!! I think what you eat does make a difference. I've been trying to stop drinking diet soda because it is a base and we want our kitties to be more acidic. I don't know that it's going to make a huge difference, but it can only help. I guess taking vit.C supplements are also a good idea. I am going to see my gyno. tomorrow. Some of you have mentioned not having insurance and are unable to go to the doctor. If any of you have any questions about some of the things you are using that you would like me to ask her about, let me know. I will check back here before I go to bed tonight. That is so nice of you, Aggravated! Maybe you could ask her about Clindamycin. Seems a few ladies are upset about having taken it. I'd like to know more about it, too. -------------------- |

I have a new BV treatment option that I like. I thought I could share it with you ladies. I was talking to a friend who is very fond of the lemon juice/cayenne/maple syrup fasts for flushing out the system, and I thought the acidity of the lemon juice may be of help to me(of course nix the sugar because that wouldn't help at all).
So, I'm not fasting, but I have been eating no/low sugar diet....and I am drinking lots of very lemony water, which I find quite yummy, and I feel better!! I am traveling in asia so my treatment options are really limited. But when life gives you lemons!! I also am using garlic clove suppositories, which is another way of reducing symptoms. So, anyway, if people are looking for non-antibiotic remedies this might be one of them worth trying. It's cheap and natural: Garlic and lemons. I am going to add some hot pepper to the lemon juice if I can tolerate it, because that is supposed to also really help. I will give an update on how well it works in the longer term. |

i didn't know that! my doctor prescribed it to me when i was first diagnosed with it too. i read somewhere too that you are not supposed to take clindesse more than once within 90 days. the first time i took clindesse i got a yeast infection, but i wasn't sure what it was so i went back to the doctor and she said it was still the bv and gave me the 2nd clindesse. which made my yeast infection worse and probably messed me up with bv even more. ohh this makes me so pissed!!!!!! and you know what? i saw that doctor maybe 2 more times after that, and then the 3rd time i went to go see here (cause i still wasn't better) she was gone... good sign right? probably got fired. this was back in august. it is really frustrating and annoying when you find out these things you wish you would have known before. i hope you feel better morphia, i know exactly how you feel. anywayyyy... my update: i was good for a while after i did the flagyl vaginally and took azo yeast and rephresh. but when i got my period i stopped using the rephresh. now it's back badddd. even after i startede using the rephresh again. so i think i might insert another flagyl and then start with the rephresh again. but i'm really really itchy lately. i treated myself twice for a yeast infection (first time with yeast guard homeopathic yeast infection crap and then 2nd time with monistat) so i don't know if i'm itchy from a yeast infection or bv or both. so i don't know what to do. i don't know if i should go to the doctor first and find out what it is or just insert the flagyl. maybe i should go to the doctor first since i might have a yeast infection and flagyl will only make it worse. blahhh I HATE THIS!!!! Does anyone here know how long Flagyl stays in your sytem and fights off the BV? |

Ok, I know I said I wasn't coming back but I can't leave. I'm terrified right now. I found this at the vaginosis site: "Clindesse should not be prescibed for this condition". I also read somewhere else on the site that it shouldn't be prescribed for a first time diagnosis. Well my doctor prescribed it to me for my first time diagnosis! I'm just scared and trying to hold back tears as I think about the fact that I could have had this beat with Flagyl the first time around and I'm so angry with my doctor. i didn't know that! my doctor prescribed it to me when i was first diagnosed with it too. How many times have you used Clindesse? Unless you used it twice in 90 days (according to this guy), you probably have nothing to worry about. Your body isn't screwed up forever, so you need to calm down. i read somewhere too that you are not supposed to take clindesse more than once within 90 days. the first time i took clindesse i got a yeast infection, but i wasn't sure what it was so i went back to the doctor and she said it was still the bv and gave me the 2nd clindesse. which made my yeast infection worse and probably messed me up with bv even more. ohh this makes me so pissed!!!!!! and you know what? i saw that doctor maybe 2 more times after that, and then the 3rd time i went to go see here (cause i still wasn't better) she was gone... good sign right? probably got fired. this was back in august. it is really frustrating and annoying when you find out these things you wish you would have known before. i hope you feel better morphia, i know exactly how you feel. anywayyyy... my update: i was good for a while after i did the flagyl vaginally and took azo yeast and rephresh. but when i got my period i stopped using the rephresh. now it's back badddd. even after i startede using the rephresh again. so i think i might insert another flagyl and then start with the rephresh again. but i'm really really itchy lately. i treated myself twice for a yeast infection (first time with yeast guard homeopathic yeast infection crap and then 2nd time with monistat) so i don't know if i'm itchy from a yeast infection or bv or both. so i don't know what to do. i don't know if i should go to the doctor first and find out what it is or just insert the flagyl. maybe i should go to the doctor first since i might have a yeast infection and flagyl will only make it worse. blahhh I HATE THIS!!!! |

I hope he replies and does so in a timely manner. Let us know whatever you find out. I'm about to finish my period and I have the rephresh shit..which the directions said I should have used before I started my period..afraid to use anything else inside her at this point..I know I have damaged the tissue up there. I have to be very careful for a while.

The more I read about Clidamycin, the more I know it is made by the devil. I wish I would have never used that. I read several articles confirming the same information..wipes out both good and bad bacteria. I emailed that Dr. Christian guy telling him how my doctor gave me the Clindesse as my first ever round of treatment and asked him if he could advise on where to go from here, since the Flagyl didn't work. I hope he responds. |

Because I have been reading about bv for months(not at this site) and thats the first I found of those... All I know is I'm am volunteering myself as a lab rat to the first bv research group I can find. |

I don't reply, most of the time, until I can't help it.
All of us were knew at one time. And if you are a true B.V. suffererer, you spend hours, trying to find a cure, solution, anything to help you with it. It would be in all new comers best interest to read the boards. Instead of taking the "Lazy" way out, and just keep asking the same thing. Thanks to all of you who do that. Obviously, I have no problem answering a question, but only to people who I know have done some research. I can't give you the answer for your body!! Morphia taught us that!!! Mine right now is Flagyl vaginally. IS IT A CURE? HELL NO. But does it work without GIVING MY BODY ANY BAD SIDE EFFECTS, Hell yes. But it took me a year to find it. And Flagyl vaginally does not work for everyone!! So...as the old saying goes, SEEK AND YOU WILL FIND. But take it upon yourself to find the answers. BY THE WAY, ENZARA DOES NOT WORK!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Several of us ladies on this board bought it, with the same results. NOTHING!! Lori...I'm horrible with communicating my tone on the net. So, as you read this, understand that I am not mad, or angry, or trying to be a bitch. I know it comes across that way, but seriously, that's not how I'm thinking as I'm typing this. We all need each other girls. For those of us who are serious about finding a solution...we need to be here for each other. Period the end.... |

Good afternoon everyone,
I found a doctor's list of herbal treatments for BV. I haven't heard of half of that crap, nor do I know how much or how often to use. It wasn't listed, so I know they aren't trying to sell it. lol. Geranium, althea, echinacea, hydrastis, usnea. I will look later tonight (elsewhere) and see if I can find the dosing and amounts that should be tried. It might help, might not. If anyone wants to read the article it was by Dr. David K. Shefrin. It had some suggestions for hormonal vaginosis too. |

As a side note, I came to this board to share my own experiences with BV and was looking for a safe, supportive environment. I'm not interested in being exposed to the "mud-slinging" that emerged in the last few posts. Lori, I think it would serve you well to explore how you are engaging with other members on this forum. Your last few posts have an aggressive tone and in certain cases, "minimize" other member's experiences with BV, such as mine. Thanks for answering my question about the Bio-K, SFgirl. I hope you don't think that I was belittling anything you said. You have to admit that BV triggering IBS sounds pretty uncommon - so my comment was one of pure surprise, but not skepticism. And I appreciate that you shared it, because it may help others who might deal with the same symptoms. I think this is one of those times I failed to accurately communicate my tone on the net. As for me. I know I'm a bitch, I'll admit it. And there's days that I just don't feel like answering the same questions over and over and over again, so I will say READ THE FRICKEN BOARD. If you're tired of answering questions, it would probably better if you just ignored them. Right? Sassy, I have read most of the thread, so I know there are spammers and hucksters to deal with. But I don't think we should abuse newbies without knowing who they are first. A lot of newbies are not spammers, but bona fide BV sufferers. Anyway, I'm not looking to start a fight with anyone. I just thought there was bit of unwarranted rudeness towards newbies going on. But it won't happen anymore, so I'm done. -------------------- |

Hi Lori,
I'm not able to find the information you requested on the Bio-K web site. If you explore the site further, look into the Clinical Studies section. The link titled "Other Therapeutic Applications of Probiotics" addresses other uses. If you're interested in clinical studies on the effects of probiotics on vaginosis, Google "probiotics vaginosis."
