i always took the first quote to mean something along the lines of, stop being a martyr and wasting everyone's time/energy/resources.
the wooden head thing is new to me. but i love ppl like that, the kind of people i could follow around all day with a tape recorder b/c of the shit that comes out they' mouth |

Okay, I was looking for the "General Knowledge" Thread but couldn't find it so I think this one will work just as well. Does anyone know what the quote "Get off the cross, someone else needs the wood." means? I suppose my metaphor meter is all out of whack, but I just don't get it. OH and another quote that goes something like "I heard someone was selling wooden heads down on the street corner."
I have a friend who's crazy catholic grandmother is in town and she keeps spouting off quotes like that and it's WONDERFUL! I keep a notepad around all the time when I'm around that woman. -------------------- Give me room to stand, and I will move the world.
