Neverending. Make an appt and talk with your Doctor. I'm 38, and when I asked my doctor this, she said mine was not hormone related. But, if you are sure your's is, I would get it checked. I don't know how they check that, cause my doctor said it's hard to test. But yeah, definately, do what works for you!!

Update:
I stopped using the Estroil and it seems as though the Bv is trying to come back.I know mine is a hormonal imbalance and I was wondering if you guys felt maybe I should try a prescribed estrogen because I was thinking maybe the plant form of estrogen is not strong enough? Any suggestions?

Hey guys- I havent been on in a while. Been working alot of hours. Anyway, I tried the boric and it didnt work. I only gave it a week though, which isnt long enough. I've started again on it this week and will take it for as long as I have to this time. Does sex interfere with the treatment?

I will also be going to the doctor AGAIN this month. I have a new one this time. Lets see what she says. I want to be tested for every STD out there, even though I know I dont have one, just want to cover all my bases. I've also been online trying to find a doctor who has successfully treated this, but no luck.

Don't worry about it Klee, It's completely understandable if you're a bit defensive or on edge. Just don't alienate those that are trying to support you vs. those that are criticizing you. It's a bad situation you're in all around. We're all just trying to soften the blow.

Maybe I read that incorrectly - it's seems like it could be taken different ways. Perhaps bad timing? And you guys have been very supportive, thank you. I've unfortunately have had some rather uncomfortable conversations with friends that have been very difficult to deal with. So, I've been rather sensitive recently since I wasn't expecting so much antogonizing from my best friends.

Wait a minute here. I have to stand up for Alwaysonmymind. I don't think she meant anything by that. She was pointing out what happens to her. That wasn't fair, and I personally feel that was uncalled for. We are all in this together ladies. We all should feel free to discuss what works and doesn't work for us. Acromona is just another name for metronidazol. I googled it, heres the site i found

And check out what it says at the top of the page in the big f-ing box! Turns out metronidazol is a carcinogen in rats and mice!! Excellent! Would have been nice to know that when the doctors perscribed it for me oh, only about 30 different times. Seriously. I've probably taken that much. I'm never using this shit again! Man this makes me so angry... I've never been told this and I'm sure it's not in product inserts either cause I ALWAYS read those. Way to pull the wool over our eyes FDA!

Well, had birthday sex tonight, and no smell. None what so ever. Not even a hint. I did 2 days of 2 boric acid, and am taking 1 Folic Acid and 1 B-6 a night. Shit smell is even gone.

Update: I've been taking 1200-1600 mcgs of folic acid per day, and the smell has remained the same. I've also been taking 1000mgs of fish oil (for those lovely omega 3 fatty acids), and still no letting up.

I'm doing a lot of "work from home", because I can't bear to be in the office with this smell! Usually, I "plug myself up" with a tampon for the entire day at work, but lately the smell has been seeping through. My coworkers will come in my office and their faces cringe in disgust. :'( I swear, this makes me want to die.

While on the topic, I think that this may have started as a result of me using feminine deodarant sprays in my teenage years. I don't know, though, but hopefully I can be cured some day.

Anyone been checked out for a group B strep infection? It's another strain of bacterial ever-present in the vag but causes problems if it overgrows. My doc told me last spring that I had group b strep infection and had a compunding pharmacy make penicillin suppositories. All the research i did online about it discusses pregnancy complications and mothers infecting children. I couldn't get anything on just nasty syptoms that wasn't somehow relating to pregnancy. Just a heads up to all that maybe this is what you could be dealing with, but you'd think the docs would pick it up on your cultures...

Wow klee. I wish you luck in whatever decision you make. On another topic, if you keep the baby...you definately want to keep your BV closely monitored because I've read several message boards where women say that BV can cause preterm labor and sometimes even miscarriages. I hope this doesn't freak you out but I wanted to tell you that in case you didn't know.

my gyno told me i had a bacterial infection when i went in about a month ago. i would get itchy as hell once in a while for a few days, mostly after my period or after screwing around. no smell, but thick white discharge a lot of times. well i took the flagyl for my however many days and have been fine for about two weeks. my boyfriend went down on me a few days ago and i started itching again like mad the next day. so now i'm swollen and tender because i keep rubbing to itch, and i have that thick white discharge every time i sit down to pee just drip drip drip. what can i do? should i go back to the doctor? it seems like it's just the exact same thing and the flagyl didn't cure anything.

Eralc Alegna, those vitamins will definitely make your pee neon yellow. it happens to me every time i take them, too, no worries.

i get the itchy/cracked labia, too. ugh.

Did two Boric Last night. Will do the same tonight. The smell is DEFINATLEY gone today. It was real strong as the boric was coming out this morning, but it is completely gone this evening. I'm itching though again on my forehead and arms, but that may just be my mind messing with me.

Anyways, KLEE, go get a pregnancy test. Unless you normally are late with periods but definately, you need to find out.

Okay - having a moderate freak out. I've been waiting and waiting for my period. Still nothing. Having cramps and swollen breasts but no period. It's going on a month and a half now. This would be B-A-D. Say a prayer for me!!
