Oh no, I don't think it's been discontinued. I would be so sad. Curious, are you in the US? Because No. 19 is available for purchase on the Chanel website. Maybe it just isn't being carried by the store you normally buy it at? I love No. 19 so much.

Still working my way through some imps given to me by a special Bustie. Making bath salts scented with imps is a genius idea for homemade gifts.

So the big winner today is the Darkling Thrush, which by all rights should smell like cheap dishsoap & toilet cleaner on me. But no, it's incredible... wet, it's sweet & clear, like the nectar I would suck out of the honeysuckle that grew on our garden fence back home. Dry, it's so, so soft and gentle, down-quilt soft and just as comforting. It's not an everyday scent for me - I tend to want something with more balls, if you will. But to come down from a cold, wet, crap winter's day & curl up with my bebe & a cup of tea & dream of spring, it's perfect.

Have an awesome time at the concert, Lorajc - I have to give some thought to what will go well with the Wilco show we're going to on Friday...

Tart, I've given imps in those little drawstring silk bags that you can kind of see-through - I've gotten them at craft stores and cost plus....there will definitely be some imp gifting in my future this holiday season as well!

So Jolasveinar and its weird curryness on my skin has forced me to look at scent lockets for Christmas. Everything I'm finding online is a little... look-at-me-I'm-soooo-Pagan-ish. I'm not bashing the pentacle & Celtic knotwork lovers of the world, it's just very much not me. I'm looking for something plain, in sterling silver. I found some sweet ones with just a pocket in the back of a pendant, rather than a true hinged locket, but again with the fussy artwork on the front. Any recs?

Part of my uber order is a bottle of Safari, Mando - I haven't tried it, but the sweet, grassy lavender described in the forum reviews was enough for me to risk it...

By the looks of things, Beth, et al, are currently whipping out orders in about 3 weeks, but that may change with the inevitable holiday crunch.

Oh gads. When it rains, it pours. I haven't placed a BPAL order for nearly a year, and now suddenly I'm a frickin' sniffy whore. $100 bucks in real orders (most of it Xmas gifts, but still), and easily the same in Ebay/Bustie purchases. And we're supposed to be saving for a house

Fuck it. I smell good, and I rarely splash out for myself anymore, especially on girly things. I deserve it. Right? Right.

Aside from the bottle splurges, I got a frimp of the Coiled Serpent from an Ebayer - holy yum! It starts off with the biggest, hippiest patchouli & sandalwood funk ever, but settles down into this incredibly warm, dry scent, like peppery warm wood. Just the thing on a cold, damp day. My other frimp, Wings of Azrael, was not so fabulous, proving once again that Tart + florals (even trace florals buried under myrrh & cypress) = teh ick.

Off to stalk the postman...

When I can. Since I work out of an urban apartment sans balcony, I generally have to obtain essentials from suppliers and create tinctures myself. I've been looking for a home distiller though, and I just drool at the possibilities.

OK, so I guess I'm a freak, because I just feel so very "eh" about pumpkin queen. It was just too baked muffin-y for me. I'm kind of let down cause I felt like it was so hyped up with the delay and all. I'm glad I didn't jump the gun and order a bottle. Dia de los Muertos, however? Mother-trucking divine. It is, oh, I can't describe it. I ended up ordering a bottle, plus black pearl, and sol invictus.

I'm wearing Sweet Rose', it's one of my own. Lots of rose and amber; it turned vanilla on me in the aging process and I love it.

That's funny ........both wearing Snow White. I guess we truly are scent twins (I almost typed Snake Twins LOL). Snake Charmer is my #1 fave BPAL followed by Hellion, Smut, Mme Moriarty, Snake Oil, and for Summer ...Al-Aref...Endymoin, Midway......and there are many more, but I'm having brain freeze right now.

I forgot that I LOVE Jacob's Ladder this year. Last year - I was just so/so on it, but this year either my taste has changed or it's better this year.

In a way, I can justify having 4-5 bottles of a fave on hand, as a bottle only really lasts me about 7 wears.......I slather....have dry skin and I'm a cold person.....so the scent hardly ever wafts on me.

Holy love of bpal - sounds like you have quite the backup collection lora!! I did a big purge last year and got rid of a lot of my backup bottles, so for now, I only have backups of snake charmer, lenore, red phoenix and snake oil. I'm really resisting the urge to stockpile, because I know I haven't even gotten to use any of my back-up bottles yet because I have so many bottles in rotation already. Its a hard thing to resist, but I know Beth will always be creating new and wonderful oils for me to try, and so long as Snake Oil and Dorian remain, I'll have my two main scents always in my collection.

Hi Ladies - Well- the only Yules that ended up working on me are Winter of Discontent, maybe Lick It Again and Sol Invictus. I'm currently hunting down all of my favorites from last year.....to purchase to make up for this unfortunate event!! LOL

Speaking of having soooooooo much oil....you ladies should see my "back up BPAL box". It's the box I put all of my extra bottles in. It's a largish shoe box and I'm on the second layer of bottles stacked neatly. I hoard my all time favorites like crazy!! I never even have time to get to all of my general catalog collection cuz of the amount of Limiteds I have!!!!

I'm the one that said compared 13 to Underpants. I think the drydown is similar.

Oh no - Krampus = leather and green..........that's soooo not me.....yikes.

I just ordered a 3rd or 4th bottle of Pumpkin Queen - I think that was my favorite from the Halloweenies. I also loved Sugar Skull and Creepy. Beth did a good job with those this year!!

I also really like White Moon!! It's strong enough to be worn in the cold weather, but it's not your traditional "cold weather" sort of scent.

If anyone wants Yules for a good price, I've listed mine on Ebay for cheaper than the Lab's price and some are just partial bottles......thus even less expensive.

gogosgirl, I agree, 13 is delightful. It's a very sweet, young scent, which is interesting because it's still very complex...it morphs so much over time.

Today I get to go pick up my decants of PQ, DDLM, Sugar Skull and the Carpathian Mts. Finally! I have a feeling I'll need to order a bottle of the queen before it's too late...but I want to test it first. Well it's my bday next week, so I might as well, yeah?

Do you guys ever feel like you have just too much bpal to keep track of, and deciding what to wear every day can seem overwhelming? That's where I'm at. I want to wear them all at the same time.

okay, I got my scents. I am in love with the new 13 incarnation -- someone likened it to underpants, and I get that hit, too. sweet and complex and lovely! the new lick it is good, too. just as minty as before, with perhaps a better depth or roundness to it. and krampus is delightful, though it's not a revamp of spanked, which I was praying for. it's got a light aspect to the leather and a bit of a green note (the switches, I guess) -- very interesting and wearable. I'm very happy with my purchases!
