so i went to the mall and tried on swimsuit top after swimsuit tops every style and color leaving me loathing my chest even more than the previous. i left the mall so discouraged and upset that i started to rethink my whole vacation.

sad.gif Aww I totally understand how awful that feels. In my life I have spent countless hours in malls desperately searching for a bathing suit that was not only comfortable and supportive enough, but also cute. I would always end up getting pissed off because all the "cute" suits had these tiny triangle tops the size of a Dorito that would hardly even cover my nipples let alone keep the 'girls' at bay hahaha. Then I'd always end up leaving the mall angry, depressed and hating myself. That is a sucky feeling so I completely sympathize with you.

I basically gave up hope on ever finding anything off a store rack and started browsing online for "large top" bathing suits. I did find a few sites that looked promising although I haven't purchased anything yet and I have NO idea if the sites are reputable or what the product quality is like.

Here is one of them I was looking at: http://www.biggerbras.com/swimming-swimsui...p-balcony.shtml
There was another one that had a huge selection but I can't seem to find it again right now. Will keep looking and post if I find it. It seems all of these swimsuit tops for larger chests are like an underwire bra style, which I personally think is the only way to go.

Hello everyone! im really happy that i stumbled on this website. i spent HOURS at the mall searching for a suitable swimsuit top. obviously i failed...horribly. i went to the mall with two of my more fullfigured friends(one gay guy and one chick). the whole i time i was searching and complaining they were harassing me about being "skinny." i will admit i am smaller than them but they dont understand my 34DDDs provide me with more than enough problems. i spent the better part of last year dropping pounds that i'd held on to since puberty first hit. i was SO excited about going the beach for the first time and buying a "sexy" swimsuit. so i went to the mall and tried on swimsuit top after swimsuit tops every style and color leaving me loathing my chest even more than the previous. i left the mall so discouraged and upset that i started to rethink my whole vacation. i've been talking about getting a breast reduction for a while, but most of the time i was joking but after today those jokes might just get more serious...

another exercise option is water aerobics. I have taught these classes for years. They do require a good fitting swim suit ( which can be just as much as a pain in the ass as finding a good bra) but are lower impact . Usually the YMCA offers these classes. there are shallow water classes. I currently teach a deep water aerobic classes and I'm not sure if this is something all YMCA's offer but check it out.

I will NOT do land aerobics ever and I DO NOT RUN!

hey everyone! I LOVE that I found this forum! laugh.gif I've felt like an outcast the past few months

Im 19--but I've had a "large" bust since about 7th/8th grade. I THOUGHT I was a 34 C/D since 9th grade.. and I think I was somewhere a lot closer to that until a few months ago. I started to notice that my bras were fitting weird but thought nothing of it.

Then finally about 2 months ago I decided to get fitted. LO AND BEHOLD i was at a 32 F or 30 G!!! No one believes me--I'm about 5' 5" and maybe between 125-130 tops.. I got this line "your boobs are huge--but not THAT big" . Its annoying because people see the F (which is actually a DDD) and G and assume I should be falling over. Then what REALLY gets them is when I say I wear an XS or a S in tops. haha.

HOWEVER-sadly, I am no longer a Victoria's Secret customer--at least when it comes to bras. I like to wear shirts that show of my assets a bit, so I was a bit worried when I noticed that a lot of "larger" bras were boring, cotton, one colored full coverage. I love demi bras and colors/design.

I FINALLY found an amazing brand for larger bra sizes--Chantelle! They offer my sizes--which a LOT of places dont offer a smaller bandwith with a large cup. And cute designs, fabrics AND lots of demi cut options! (AND theyre actually lined and have a tiiiiny bit of padding unlike a lot of larger bras that have nooo lining or padding so you feel like you have no form) I love that I can feel "sexy" in such a large bra size!

The only problem is that Chantelle Bras can be expensive. IF you buy them through Nordstroms.com and such that run about 70-80 per bra. BUT, often I go to e-bay and type in my bra size in the search engine. and I find tons of cute bras from Chantelle and Wacoal and other companies similar to them for suuuper cheap (THINK LIKE 15-35 !!) which is definitely worth it because they are ALL brand new/never worn! So try looking there! tongue.gif

Oh yeah. I wear support bras, but I hate it when I'm in a group exercise class jumping around and I feel and see my boobs bouncing around. Feeling heavy on my rib cage or just bouncing while I jump rope. It's annoying.

Does anyone know if they make exercise videos for big breasts? It would be cool to have a workout DVD that didn't require laying on my stomach, putting my arm across my body, or bouncing around too much. I always end up doing exercises wrong because my boobs are either in the way or too heavy (our centers of gravity are probably not the same as an average-boobed person!). Plus my neck is always tense so when I do exercises I mostly feel it in the neck. So I'd like something that strengthened my back.

sooo cheesy but i like the walk away the pounds videos. no bouncing. some involve hand weights, so you can work on your upper body and back too.

Actually there is a Nordstroms not too far from here. Thanks so much for the suggestion, I am gonna try there as soon as I can get over there. smile.gif

About exercises... I totally understand what ya mean of course. Jogging and bouncing is quite uncomfortable. I notice that I constantly have my back and shoulder muscles held completely tense and rigid... as if I'm trying to further support my heavy chest. I don't think it does anything except make my back and shoulders more tense and make it harder to breathe but oh well... it's a bad habit I've been doing since I was a teen.

I recently started using mini dumbells and also one of those exercise balls, which I find VERY cool. I've been trying to strengthen my back and core lately because I had a serious back injury a while ago and I am finally brave enough to actually exercise again. I've often suspected the possibility that my chest is one of the culprits in why I have reoccurring back issues. I hope to get strong enough where I don't have to worry that I'm allowing the weight from my chest to harm my back, and also improve my posture which will help throughout my lifetime. I want to have muscle holding up the weight of my frame, not my spine.

The exercise ball... I was scared to use it at first because there are many exercises that require you to lay on the ball, or sit on it or whatever and i didn't trust it at first, but I totally trust it now and love this thing. I am now able to do crunches and obliques and the ball is yielding enough where my back is totally supported, plus you're getting the maximum amount of range of motion on the muscles you want to target. I also am able to lean/lay against the ball on my stomach (on my knees with the ball resting underneath my breasts) and I can do lots of different back strengthening movements as well as butt and leg lifts which are AWESOME! There are so many other movements too, which I'm still learning about. I look at different pictures of exercises online, and I stick with the ones that I can do, and ones that seem to target the areas I want to focus on. I never try ones that look too complicated or that I am not confident I can do. Most importantly I cannot afford to hurt myself while doing this or else I'll be back where I started. So I go very slowly, and count to 10 or 20 reps and I feel SO relaxed after doing them. I never go for more than 30 minutes.

I know cardio is important, but I think I might have to give up on the jogging because it's just too uncomfortable no matter how many sports bras I try. However, I have been reading about how you can really tone up and lose fat by weight/strength training and I think that's what I'm going to stick with. I have to accept that jogging and bouncing is not for everyone. I am not gonna let my chest stop me from trying to be fit. The more muscle I build the more my body will burn fat, long after I stop the exercise. I'm ok with this smile.gif And plus there is no bouncing or having to hold my boobs during any of these exercises!

I use a 65cm fitness ball (was like 9 bucks at walmart) and also a set of 5lb mini dumbells and a set of 10lb (because I outgrew the 5lb)

This is just what I do. Might not be for everyone. But I've so far been happy with the results, and I look forward to doing this each time. I set aside 20 to 30 minutes each night to be quiet and peaceful and do this. I don't end up all sweaty and tired. I take my time and don't let "the girls" stop me cool.gif

kinkaju,
Where are you living? If you are in a bigger city that has a store like Nordstroms you could go there and get sized. Wearing a bra that fits will change your life. If you are anywhere near Chicago I would suggest my favorite bra store Schwartz's Intimates which I googled and found this link:

http://www.mrbra.com/braslingeriestoreplussize.ivnu

I hope you find a place near y ou! Good luck!

Can anyone suggest where would be a good place to get properly fitted for a bra or some brands that I should look for?

I was a 36C for years then went to a D and now am probably somewhere in the DD+ range although at this point, WHO KNOWS!
I HATE bra shopping so much, I try to stay positive but I ALWAYS end up getting down on myself and depressed because nothing ever seems to fit right and I know I've probably been wearing the wrong size for years now. But truth be told I've been too shy and embarrassed to have someone fit me. But I don't feel confident buying larger sized bras online at specialty sites because I don't even know what size to get. But I've gotten to a point where I can't stand the straps digging into me, or the wires moving around and constantly having to re-adjust throughout the day and even sometimes getting rashes underneath my breasts. I sometimes secretly feel angry when guys talk about huge breasts being "so great" because I'm thinking "Yeah cuz YOU don't have to carry these heavy things around your whole life!" I guess I have some angst about it. It's like, I like them and the shape that they give me, but I sometimes just get so frustrated and wish I could feel the freedom of running around braless with a thin top on, or just being able to BREATHE and not have this weight constantly. They are their own entity I swear! I have to consider them as if they were another being hehe. maybe that's why people refer to them as "the twins" or "the girls"

Sorry for the rant.... but I've never said any of this to anyone before in my life and needed to get it "off my chest" pardon the pun hehehe. (_)_) laugh.gif

I was about that in my teens - I hated them though. My little sister is the same, but the rest of our family isn't. Just a genetic quirk. I'm a J cup now (I think) and planning on a reduction after kids.

But you aren't alone!

icebox,
unfortunately, once you get above DD or so, there is no set way of saying what cup size you are. Every bra company does slightly different sizing. Although they are similar, one company's F may be another company's EE. It's confusing to say the least.

I have no Idea what bra size I was at 15. I thought i was a 36C for about 6 years before i got professionally fitted and found out I was a 34F. I know I was larger than most of my friends tho. Right now I am 23 and I'm a 32J-ish. Plus once you start having kids, they'll grow again. So I'm not sure there is a set age when your breasts stop growing.

If you are worried about your breasts getting larger, I would recommend steering clear of most hormonal contraceptive pills. They were most likely my #1 cause for my breasts getting to where they are now. Although, if you do plan on taking them, use a lower dose pill. Your doc can talk to you about that.

Finally, make sure you stay in shape. Especially your back. Good posture is soooo hard with a large bust, but if you let your breasts weigh you down, you will have massive back pain the rest of your life.

Here's hoping things start working out!

REALLY?! Well, that makes sense...but I thought it went DD then E. Are the E and F european sizes? Because my new bras are all D. DDD and DDDD. seems silly to have that many D's. What's a DDDD equivalent to?

My suspicions are that you don't need a breast reduction at all, but a better fitting bra. Have you been professionally fitted? . Once you find one which fits - and don't worry about the style- get a well made one with wide fitting band & straps, all the other symptoms may disappear. 34DDD isn't huge (although that's unlikely to be your real size) and shoulnd't be causing back pain unless you have other problems with your back, physiotherapy might help if a bra fitting doesn't solve everything. Another thing is try another shop to get a second opinion, I am a 36H & often I am sure that some shops if they don't have a bra that exactly fits me will try & sell the next size up or down - if you feel that is happening just walk out!

Some of the problem may be psychological. You may find your real cup sizes is actually bigger than you want to be however don't worry - your problems be may smaller if the bra fits properly!

If this doesn't work then go to your doctor who can then examine you as your back pain may not be breast related and then she can discuss options with you ith regard to breast reduction.

I am 34DDD and I have the worst back problems, they are almost debilitating. I have tried exercise and massages and it doesnt do anything for me. I have thought about a reduction surgery but Im scared of getting surgery and i really dont want the scars.
I cant find bras or swimsuits that are cute and i finally had to admit that i wasnt a medium shirt anymore.
I dotn like feeling the way I do about myself, but i cant help it. Sometimes I love my body and I'll know i look good but then there are other times when I feel like everyone is looking at me and I feel like a pornstar.
What to do?
