Right now I am loving the Delta Spirit. They're kind of a not nearly as smart or complicated version of the Walkmen. It just has a nice swing to it, yo. "Trashcan" is a dope as hell single.

beach house are wonderful!!!! it actually took me a while to get into them but they've definitely been part of my soundtrack this summer. mpl, heart of chambers gives me chills too! the way it progresses, and that spot right after "would you be my longtime baby" where her voice kind of breaks as it goes up--!!!!!!!! i also really love "tokyo witch" from their first album.

30'sgirl))))) Thank you for Beach House... I love it! I love new discoveries for me...!!!! "Heart of Chambers" is giving me the chills!!! Kewl! Yay! Truthfully, I like their first album better (particularly Master of None), but the new one's growing on me. I think they've got kind of a Mazzy Star/Opal sound with a little Broadcast '60s pop and Cocteau Twins sparkle thrown in. I love her Kendra Smith-like voice, too. -------------------- I'm no model lady. A model's just an imitation of the real thing. -Mae West |

I've been in a dreamy mood this morning and grooving out to the new Beach House album, Devotion. Particularly this track, You Came To Me. ...*love*...

I like the She & Him album a lot! Thanks to humanist for putting me onto them by giving a good review in this thread.
I've been listening to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds's Murder Ballads again. -------------------- "Hey, did anyone ever think Sylvia Plath wasn't crazy, maybe she was just cold? " (Lorelai Gilmore) |

OMFG, Wolfmother broke up! I am on their mailing list & I got an email today that said the basssist & drummer quit & Andrew plans to reform the group when he finds new members. I am beyond crushed.

Been listening to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds again lately, I have tickets to see them in Seattle in September, can't wait!
Might have to order the new CD online, can't find in this town anywhere. |

I saw Hercules and love Affair live and they were awesome!
Invincible's 'Shapeshifters' is already one of my favourite releases of this year. And i'm doing this 80's roundtrip: The Divinyls, Missing Persons, Strawberry Switchblade,Romeo Void.. -------------------- "It was when I found out I could make mistakes that I knew I was on to something"- Ornette Coleman

Crossposted with LPoH thread, Sixty Belgian women agree . . . It's a lovely version of Radiohead's "Creep".

Tom Hagerman is fulfilling my Amelie accordian, music box love right now.
And I'm liking the Mary Onettes, too.. for their sorta bauhaus-y, pop-goth thing going on. Fun times with Brazilian girls new album!!! I deem this one of my next "transition with strength" albums for its ability to make my booty bounce. gahhhh... I NEED the new radiohead. badddd..... A few of Elin Palmer's stuff is tres nice, as well. She's a swedish/denver multi-instrumentalist singer. I dig "Postcards" and "du". Haunting and organic. I likey like. Been coming back to Beulah, too... these days. |

I saw the Melvins last night. There were so fuckin good I can't even deal with it. It was super heavy metal . Possibly one of the best live shows I have ever seen.
The Melvins brought down the hammer and any band I listen to after that show, fuckin suck. they have ruined me. |

I really love Sleeping States, the wistful, sad Radiohead album, and The Elected these days.

I've recently discovered Inner and their CD Lovetheonlyway but I simply can not find it when I try to illegally download it! Sigh! It's so frustrating. I've found a few places to listen to it online but I want it with me always! Humph. The thing is, I like them so much that if I don't find a solution soon I might actually-gasp!-buy their CD once I have money again. And the last CD I bought was Modest Mouse, the one with "Float On" on it, so you know it's a big deal.
