Okay. started taking the primadophilus reuteri about 11 a.m. on friday. it is now saturday 10 p.m. just to state, i've had for as long as i can remember this burning sensation and lots of discharge, along w/ foul, to the 10 power, odor.

Results thus far:

no burning sensation (its so weird for my kitty to not be on fire 24/7!! lol. its at complete peace.... ALMOST) and very little discharge. i think its actually a normal amount of discharge! *gasp* buttt the odor is still there. however, instead of it to the 10th power, its like to the 2nd. i would say a pretty darn good improvement. i'm hoping it will completely disappear within a week or so.

Method:

right now the only thing i'm taking is one prima. reu. a day && thats it. tomorrow i'm going to take one prima reu and a acidphilus and see what happens. if there's still odor, i'll add folic acid and so forth.

i was extremly happy with the website anitsirhc recommended. fast delivery as promised. thanks anitsirhc!!!

Which bottle exactly are you taking? The probiotic we are all trying, Femdophilus, is made up of GR-1 and RC-14. Which is in plain english, or shall I say in plain latin, Lactobacillus Rhamnosus and Lactobacillus Reuteri. When you read the research on which bacterias are missing from your vagina during a BV infection, it seems that these are the two. I have gone through a few bottles of Femdophilus, and so far it seems to be helping a lot. The bottle I am taking now is the 'Primadophilus Reuteri' as well. When you read the label it says: Lactobacillus Rhamnosus, Lactobacillus Reuteri, and Lactobacillus Acidophilus. I'm taking it because every health food store I walked into that day had run out of the femdophilus. But it seems to be working the same. I was hesitant to try it though, because it had acidophilus listed as an ingredient. And in the beginning of my BV I was religiously taking Lactobacillus Acidophilus, as well as bifidus and bulgaricus. (Written on the bottles: 'Bifidobacterium Bifidum', and 'Lactobacillus Acidophilus delbrueckii bulgaricus') - and it didn't improve anything.

As well, I noticed that everytime I ate yogurt I got a flare up. I just walked to the fridge and read my yogurt container, and it says that it has Lactobacillus Acidophilus in it as well as Bifidus, L. Casei and L. Reuteri in it. So I am assuming that one of those 4 bacteria don't agree with me. I also ate one of those mini yogurt containers the other day... and had a flare up as well. (I don't remember what the stuff was called, I will have to look it up later.) I don't know if the flare up was BV or something else - but I had a lot of secretions that day that seemed to be exactly like the BV. Or maybe the yogurt makes it worse and then it gets better again later? I'm not sure. I never had a problem eating yogurt before. And now every time I eat it, it seems to make the BV worse. Kind of strange seeing that my doctor told me to eat more yogurt. Also weird seeing that yogurt is supposed to be good for keeping yeast infections at bay. But BV is not a yeast infection. Maybe this happens because the bacteria that needs to be replenished in a BV infection is actually not acidophilus, but something else, like reuteri or rhamnosus, or even something else. Or perhaps the strains that are missing are different for different women. I don't know. Someone once told me that each strain of bacteria competes with the other for space in your body. So perhaps when you take your reuteri you should not be taking it at the same time that you are taking the acidophilus, or yogurt. They will just fight with each other and cancel each other out. Or maybe the reuteri is weaker than the acidophilus, so when taken together, the acidophilus always wins. Then you have too much acidophilus in your vagina - thus the extra discharge.

does anyone have pale yellow discharge instead of they grayish color?

My discharge is yellow too. Does most of the other gals here have the grayish?

Question for the gal who uses baking soda...my nurse suggested I try this, she has bv too...but it kinda made me sratch at my head being that baking soda is alkaline...How in the hell do you make baking soda suppositories?

Also, I'm a little scared about trying the boric because of my cervix bleeding after sex, I guess I'm afraid it will get in my blood stream or something..which would be toxic, I had read not to use on open wounds, I'm guessing my cervix are "open" since they bleed a lot...lol

I did pick up some vitamin E oil, what's the protocol on that, just rub? lol

I'm impressed with your femanol results....is there still NO odor and No discharge today too, on day 9?? I'm really thinking of getting it even though i ordered some flagyl( which i tried to stop from coming but it seems like it was already processed). please continue to keep us posted, i may follow in your footsteps iin a few weeks.

virgin4life -- good luck with your new products! please keep us updated. so far i'm on day 9 with the femanol and i'm doing soooo much better.

bvg -- i sometimes have a pale yellow discharge also. for me it kinda varies in color and consistency depending on where I am with my menstrual cycle. as for the hp washes, you may want to try it diluted first with water to see if it burns your girly bits at all. when i first used it, i used it full strength with a baby syringe. i used a total of 30ml or 6 tsp once a day for about 3 days. at first i was a bit tingly but nothing unbearable. good luck with your decision!

Hello everyone!!! I'm new to this site!!! I feel we all should be given a PHD with all the research that I know we have all done! I have been suffering with BV for 6 long years!!!! I have spent soooo much money on doctors, medicine and rememdies! In all this, I did find a specialist, I had to fly to Houston to see and he treated me with boric acid and vitamin E. He was the only doctor that helped me. However, I ran out of money and stopped going to him (airplane tickets to expensive). So after recovering from the 10 or thousands of dollars I spent on doctors not helping me, I decided to try again on my own! As I have studied this until I want to scream, I'm considering going back to school to be a doctor so no other women has to ever go through this terrible crap! I recently found a wonderful website I want to share with all of you! It sounds like they really have there stuff together!

http://www.rockwellnutrition.net/Bacterial...osis_c_101.html

They came up with a protocal for BV, including replenishing with Vit. A & E and probotics. I think a homopathic doctor came up with it (not to sure) It just sounds like they maybe on the right track.

Furthermore, I know that boric acid works, it worked on me!! and was given to me by the specialist! I have never used Hp, but I'm considering the option!!!

I send out much sympathy to all of you!!! I know how hard it is living like this! I felt so alone for so many years!! Although I hate that anyone has this terrible ailment, I'm glad all of you are here. Theres power in numbers, and were theres a will theres a way. We will find our way out to this!!! TOGETHER!!! Thank you all and much love!!!

I know this sounds like science fiction, but while researching probiotics & corresponding with the patent-holder of the Fem-dophilus strains of acidophilus, Gregor Reid, I found out that the good bacteria must travel through the intestinal tract, then out the anal opening, then they literally crawl, if you will, into the vagina. It takes an average of about 4 days to make the journey. Since learning this, I am careful to not use anti-bacterial wipes after a BM, etc. since that could wipe out the good bacteria as they valiantly make their journey. rolleyes.gif

Hope this helps!
Maggie

This is confusing to me... I thought the point was to keep the anal bacteria AWAY from the vaginal bacteria because there is ecol i naturally in the rectum. I not only have BV but gas- intestinal problem. perhaps IBS or something else. Does this also have to do with the balance of bacteria?

im on fem dophilus right now... its not really helping me, except that i dont have a overload of white discharge but im still sick. i had unprotected sex and now my husband has a itchy dick sad.gif

Hi,
I'm new to this site. Like everyone here I've been suffering with bv since I was a teenager. Ive' seen various doctors for this problem as well but to No avail. For the last couple of years I've been trying at home remedies. For far what works best for me is vaginally inserting (1) boric acid & (1) baking soda suppositories that I make myself.

hi all, i am new here but i am hoping i can get help. i was wondering how long it takes for the femdophilus to start working if it is going to? I have been on it for about a week as well as taking 100mg b-6, 250 mg b-12 and 800 mg. folic acid and a garlique.

i've read other people saying that they felt relief in 2 days but others are taking longer....what is the average.

I have no smell, just discharge and burn/itchy.

thanks!
