I don't know. I think it's just him. Yes, he has a big stupid ass willy that he doesn't know what to do with. The new one, is not as large, and never had problems with him. I'm just stupid for giving in. It's just hard. We have going on almost 6yrs history with each other, and it's been hard to say no. Obviously, "HE'S CHANGED" and is in love with me and only me, and can't live without me, blah, blah, blah, and I was stupid enough to buy into it AGAIN. But, I won't make that same mistake again.

I ordered some more 500mg online yesterday. And have been taking 2 of the 200mg twice a day by mouth. Smell is gone this morning. So, I'm hoping it's gone now again. I haven't had sex since with my ex, cause to afraid the new guy will smell it and FREAK OUT!! So, hopefully it's gone.

My sis in law confided in me and has been going through the same thing, except no symptoms. She went to the doctor and they said her infection is WAY UP THERE!!! So, maybe I had it, WAY UP THERE, AND THE BIG WILLY BROUGHT IT OUT!! That's why I'm taking the Flagyl by mouth as well.

Anyways, I will keep you posted.

Damn! I remember you saying something about him having a big willy. Do you think that is why you get the BV? I hate to ask you but does your current boyfriend have a smaller you know what than your ex? Just wondering! Maybe, it's the size of the penis?

Well girls, I screwed up and had sex with the ex. What an idiot I am. After being 4 months free of B.V., BAMMMM just like that, it's back, and I even made him use protection.

I ran out of the 500mg Flagyl, and have been inserting the 200mg flagyl, but that hasn't done anything. So, I'm going to order some more 500mg online today, and hopefully, that will do the trick.

Anyways, hope all is well. HI LORI!!, SASSY, NEVERENDING....

Well, I just started on Monday, so its a little early to tell. Plus I've been using the boric acid caps, so that also affects it. On a side note, a little worried because my period seemed to start like 4 days ago, and nothing full blown yet. Could be the diet though. Bad timing. I hope so. Anyway! I don't think you should worry that the anti- and the pro- will cancel each other out. As long as you don't take them together it should be fine. It's recommended that ladies take acidophilus when on a prescription, so I think it should be fine. Esp. if it seems to be working for you! I'm going to give an update in another week or so when my period and the boric acid are worked out.

Question for all BV fighters... Does anyone notice a grainy texture to their periods sometimes? I don't know if it's just me, but I think it might have to do with the BV.

As for the Nuva Ring, I was on it for a bit a while back, but it didn't work for me. I would ask the doc. I have read that it can cause infections, but I don't know. I got infections from the keeper. I used that for probably two or three years, but it might have been cuz it was getting old. Seems like anything being up there for long periods of time could cause an infection. I hope that's not the case for you though! Could you try the patch maybe? For a break or something?

Hi LoveLife:)

I went back and reread your posts and it does seem we are on a simillar supplement routine:) How are your symptoms since you started? I'm two weeks in with the Femdophilis and doing well, I feel as though I'm kicking the problem.

I'm going to do the Goldenseal until next week and then take a break from any kind of anti-biotic, anti-microbial and see how things go. What I'm afraid of is that I'm being counterproductive by taking any kind of anti and expecting my little probiotics to repopulate again... any thoughts on this? If I do feel like I start losing ground, I will try some of the others off of your list, thanks so much for the info!

Best of luck to everyone battling this... I just bought my second bottle of Femdophilis today so I'm goin strong lol!

Also, is anyone on the NuvaRing? I've been on it for over two years and only had the BV problem twice in the past 10 months, but I'm wondering if it could affect the BV at all? Should I be taking it out and washing it regularly while I'm fighting the BV? I'm not willing to go off of it... it's the best birth control on the planet as far as I'm concerned, but maybe it could be harboring the bad guys? Just wondering if anyone else has given this any thought??

Sorry I am just here to gripe!!!! This really bites. My sex life is boring at best. My husband hasn't complained because at least he is getting some but he has to pull out EVERY time so the smell won't come back. I have been smell free for a few weeks but I don't know if it is the vitamins or the fact that he pulls out. I am too scared to let him try. There has to be a better cure out there somewhere!! I can't take this much longer. I am going crazy!!!!! mad.gif

Brandils: Keep it together girl! One day it will all be over and you will be able to have hot, freaky, kinky sex with your husband. LOL! JUST DON'T GIVE UP!

Hi Desperate1. Sounds like you're doing something similar to what I'm doing. Even though I'm going a bit more intense with it. But I've been getting these stupid things for over 2 years and I honestly don't think it has ever really fully gone away. Anyway, what I wanted to say is that I read that it is a good idea to switch up your natural anti-bacterials... ie. the Goldenseal. Or you body risks becoming immune to them. Oregano Oil is actually the strongest one you can take. And grapefruit seed extract is also a good one.
Here is of anti-microbials list in case you want to try another:
Chaparral, garlic, green tea, lemon balm (antiviral, bad for hypothyroidism), lomatium, myrrh (small amounts, good if teamed with Goldenseal), olive leaf, onion, oregano, pau d’arco (antifungal), rosemary, sage, sandalwood, St. John’s wort, thyme, elderberry, basil, cinnamon, fresh ginger, chrysanthemum, mullien, horehoud, hyssop, usnea, grapefruit seed, licorice (careful, high doses can mess with potassium absorption and cause blood pressure problems, but this stuff rules.)
Also some good immune supportive things are echinacea, ginseng, shitake, astragulus, ligustrum, andrographis, miatake, reishi, changa, and there are plenty more too...

** i am no doctor so be sure to check the dosage and side effects of anything unprescribed (not to say that prescribed stuff won't mess with you either tho)

Hey Ladies, I'm going to hopefully be going into a natural medicine field her in the next year or so, hopefully I can be of more help then!

Hi there! I'm new to the boards but have been lurking for the last several weeks as I've been desperately searching for a cure for this damn BV!!

A brief history here... one day late last year a nasty odor appeared. I was freaked out because I thought it was an STD, but an o-so-embarrasing trip to Planned Parenthood left me diagnosed with BV and a prescription of Flagyl. What a relief right?! Sure the Flagyl made me gag and choke every time I took it, I couldn't drink alcohol (which is hard to explain to the drinking buddies), and I got a raging yeast infection afterward (which then I also treated with OTC stuff). But yay... I was odor free... for about 7 months.

Surprise, it's back. Out of nowhere. I've been dating and sleeping with the same guy all year, no douching, tampons only when I have a heavy flow (I'm on the NuvaRing too and have been for over two years now). After how awful the Flagyl was, I thought I'd research this stuff a little and came across this site.

Let me just say that I probably won't post here often, but a big thanks to all of you who do. Along with valuable information on your trials and errors with treatments, you have made me laugh until my stomach hurts! So I thought I'd contribute a little and share my experience and what's worked for me so far. I haven't kicked the BV totally yet, but I feel like I have a decent control over it and I have hope that my treatment will work if given enough time! I don't honestly know if its the combination of things I did/am doing or one single thing, so I'll post it all lol!

*About 4 weeks ago I started eating the Activia yogurt daily. (This only lasted 3 weeks because I hate yogurt!)

*3 weeks ago I started taking Acidophilis tablets and a multi-vitamin pack from Natures Bounty that includes a multi, fish oil, calcium, b-complex, and a bunch of other stuff. (I figured it was time to start taking care of myself a little better and vitamins are a good start!)

*I also bought a box of RePhresh and started using that. I did get clumpy discharge from that, but since the RePhresh is a clear gel I figure it just meant the nasty stuff was getting cleaned out. I did use pantyliners for at least the first day of each RePhresh because it does leak out, don't believe it when they say otherwise!!

*Two weeks ago, more research, and I bought some Femdophilis and Goldenseal. I take one Femdophilis in the AM and one in the PM, and two Goldenseal tabs with my other vitamins at lunchtime.

*I used the first three rounds of RePhresh each 3 days apart (and I needed them lol!) the last one I didn't need until about 6 days after the last dose (which was progress!). And after that last dose I haven't felt like I needed it. The only other change I made was having the bf pull out... it sucks, but the semen brings the smell back again immediately and I feel like I'm starting over again!

Here's my reasoning behind all of this... from everything I read the vaginal flora is off balance which is what creates BV. Antibiotics only make the problem worse by killing off everything and not just the bad guys. I'm trying to repopulate the flora naturally and I believe the Femdophilis can do this. I started off with the RePhresh because it takes care of the smell and seems to get the nasties out which made me feel better right away (I was so so so self-conscious of that smell... if I could smell it so could other people... UGH!). Meanwhile I'm taking Goldenseal which is a natural mild antibiotic that is good for the mucous membranes, and the Femdophilis to repopulate my vag with the good stuff. (I do take them at seperate times during the day just in case the Goldenseal might kill off the bacteria strains I'm taking!)

For the last week and a half I have had only a few MILD MILD bouts of dischage with a slight odor. I'm only taking the Goldenseal for another week (2-3 weeks at a time is all thats recommended), but I'm going to keep on with the Femdophilis and other supplements and see what happens. I'll try to update in a week or two as to whether the problem has continued to improve! My gut feeling is that this treatment is a process and it's going to take some time before everything is healthy again so I'm giving my body that time and working to get healthier in the process. Also, besides the RePhresh, I didn't and don't use anything else vaginally... my reasoning is that I don't want to undo any repopulating by douching with peroxide or sticking vitamin C or boric acid tabs up there!!

Thanks for taking the time to read this (I know it's terribly long!) I hope that just maybe this can give someone else out there some hope and some ideas that might work for you too!

So I am still on my quest to find somewhere to buy b-complex injections, and I got real excited when I found a link. As I began reading the article, they were b-complex injections...but for freaking cats. lol The interesting part (for me) was that this treatment is used by vets to treat cats with chronic renal (kidney )failure!

Our adrenal glands sit right on top of our kidneys and there are blood vessels that link them together. So, if b-injections are given to people under high stress or anxiety..which is most likely caused from overactive adrenal glands.. I can see why this can cause problems with repeated urinary tract infections too..or renal failure. (In my case)

So I'm going to try a crazy diet/lifestyle change dealy to see if I can't get rid of this. Three months. No sugar, yeast, processed food, fermented foods (unless it's naturally done with good bacteria), wheat. etc. see my previous post. Plus, I'm going to try to eat as much raw food as possible.

I'm also taking a multi vitamin, Femdophilis, oregano oil pills alternating every four days with grapefruit seed extract and goldenseal, enzymes, a blue-green algae supplement, an extra 2000 MG of Vit C and fish oil. And for the first little while (i'm not sure how long yet...) I'm going to use boric acid tablets in le coochie. Plus maybe try some extra relaxation and maybe a chi gong class. I'll keep you posted as to how I'm feeling! Oh and I'm also going to be taking Dong Quai.

I'll also let you know if I change anything too. Oh and please let me know if you have any recommendations for this! I would really appreciate it. Thanks

So I went back to the specialist today and the BV is gone after the first round of treatment. I am glad that part is over because I couldn't stand the taste it gave me in my mouth. I took my best friend with me and she had no symptoms. The Dr was shocked!!! I now use BA for 30 days and then use metrogel for 6 months twice a week. Hopefully this will knock it out but I am not feeling very hopeful. I do have 2 questions for you guys.

How do you know the potency of the BA? He told me to use 300 or 600 (I can't remember which) once a day. The bottle doesn't say anything about how much it contains. In the past I was just filling up an empty cap.

2nd. Do any of your partners have a hard time using condoms? My husband just can't do it. He is suppose to use one for the first 3 months of this study. We used one once in the past 2 weeks and he couldn't stay erect. I know is is totally psychological, but he refuses to admit that. I guess we just won't be having sex for the next 2 and a half months sad.gif

OK, so I was diagnosed with B.V. about a year ago. I went on Flagyl and it cleared up. Around the same time, my boyfriend and I broke up.
I stayed celibate for a good eight months or so, and recently (about a month ago) had sex for the first time after the breakup.

God damn it if I don't have weird shit going on in my crotch again! Strong smell, air bubbles, the works. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Does intercourse trigger flare ups? Maybe the only reason why it went away at all is because I wasn't having sex for all that time.. if so that would SUCK.

Any thoughts?

AIR BUBBLES.....Yes...we've spoke of these before. This is normally one of the first signs for me that I have B.V.

Neverending...it's been so long since I ordered. I would just go to search and type in the name you are looking for with the words "Buy Online". That's how I found mine.

Feel free to P.M. me. I don't check this site everyday, but if you P.M. me, I get an email saying so!!

Still B.V. free on my end. Got rid of the ex, got rid of the B.V......

Hi~

New here! I have been battling recurrent BV and yeast for over 2 years. It comes back like every 3 months. At one point I took oral and vaginal flagyl like 3 times in 2 months. I wanted to cry!! Anyway. I just stopped using stuff. (It didn't go away) I have another one right now. Yay. I also get recurrent UTIs. Which have gotten better, but
it burns all the time when I pee, been tested, no problems... I'm just "sensitive".

Just some info:

Symptoms: I have a strong smell (not usually fishy, but strong crotch odor) usually thicker discharge, sometime greyish green and sometimes white.
The worst and most annoying and obvious that I ahven't noticed many people talk about are the air bubbles i feel leaving my pussfactor ALL DAY LONG.
It drives me nuts! its like a freakin bubble machine in there. Anyone else have this problem? Could it be something else?

What I've tried: Boric Acid, kinda burns and irritates the skin for me. I use Yeast Guard though and I know there are other things in there. It's kinda scratchy...
Like all of the stupid prescriptions, oral and vaginal. "oh well, let's just try ONE MORE course of meds and see if it works this time..." riiiight.
Also take acidophilis and bifidus daily, doesn't really help. I'm gonna buy Femdophilis tho and try that. And I tried it vaginally, helped for yeast... not for BV.
RePhresh or whatever. Took away the itch, not the freaking bubbles though. And gave me a grotty chunky white discharge. But I'll use it again if I'm really itchy.
Aaaand I think that's it... Oh! I went on a month long cleansing diet, no sugar (incl. fruit! esp. fruit juices!), no vinegar, no processed foods, no flour, no molds (cheese, certain types of nuts, mushrooms), no alcohol... that seemed to help all of my problems actually. no more burning pee and less bubblyness. maybe i should have tried for longer.

I also have IBS and chronic sinus infections too. I can't help thinking that at least for me, these chronic problems are perhaps related to my immune system. Does anyone take high doses of Vit C regularly? Astralagus? Anything for immune boosting? Or what about oral anti-bacterials like garlic, grapefruit seed extract, oregano oil? Female repro balancing herbs like Dong Quai? I can't help thinking this is a body problem and not just a vag problem with it being recurrent and all.

Sorry so long. Welcome some feedback!

Sorry one more... anyone tried these (i just found them, didn't read anything about it here):
"Herbal-C" suppositories -- contains Myrrh, Echinacea, Slippery elm, goldenseal root, marshmallow, Geranium and yarrow (available from Vitanica)

"Vag-Pak" suppositories -- contains Anhydrous magnesium sulfate, Glycerin complex, Hydrastis tincture, Thuja oil, Tea tree oil, Bitter orange oil, Vitamin-A (as palmitate) 100,000 iu, Ferric sulfate, Ferrous sulfate in polybase. (available from Vitanica)

Or an Apple Cider Douche?

Just an update about the femmesil that I tried. As I said I had just finished my monthly and thought that the bv was back. I am taking B6 and folic acid daily. I used the femmesil 3 times a day for 2 days and once a day for 3 more days. The last time I used it was 2 days ago and so far so good. Knock on wood. The femmesil has silver and some other natural ingredients. It worked for me and was worth the $25 I paid. It is a small tube but it doesn't take much and I will have enough for 2 or 3 more full treatments if needed. Maybe this info will help someone else. Don't know if it is the vitamins or this femmesil or both.
