TOP CHEF -
I really want Carla to win. Even though Stefan is probably technically the best chef, Carla has that extra *something* (it must be the love!) that just brings her cooking to another level. Even though Hosea is the weakest chef on there, I have a soft spot for him, because the restaurant he's the chef for is in Boulder, where I went to college - one of my friends was the sous chef at the same restaurant. Jax (Hosea's restaurant) is a really high end seafood restaurant, and the food is consistently spot on and innovative. The fact that Hosea has no formal training and is the chef there is a big accomplishment in and of itself. He clearly is adept at learning and using technique but he just doesn't have that level of it that Carla and Stefan have. I'd be surprised if he won (and I'd rather see Carla win) but since they judge on that particular challenge only, you never know if he could pull one out of the bag. I really wanna see Stefan go down. I just think if he was a great chef, he would spend more time in the kitchen, and not take so many shortcuts with his food - even though the end product is good. oh, had to mention something on that blog - I thought it was hilarious that the writer calls Jeff "Dildo Jeff." All season when they would put the name of Jeff's restaurant under his name, I would read it as "Dildo beach club" I'm so glad I'm not the only one! ha! |

Can this person who wrote below even understand tongue-in-cheek? and by tongue-in-cheek I mean that the blog is not supposed to be taken seriously and that's what makes it humorous?
star, thanks, it made me giggle. Oh and for the record: Fabio interpreted creole food and put his own spin on it, creating good dishes, whereas Stefan's attitude -and by default, his work effort and professionalism- was shitty and his food was not up to his usually high standard. -------------------- "Hey, did anyone ever think Sylvia Plath wasn't crazy, maybe she was just cold? i didn't think it was hilarious.. and now it's time to write an absurd rant about a television show.
top chef is supposed to be about the food and who is the best chef, not about adolescent drama. the last thing Carla's definition should be about is how white her hair looks. Emeril doesn't resemble Sean Connery in the least. Jeff is the cerebral chef who thinks which explains why the person who wrote this article cannot remember who he is. it's obvious that this blogger doesn't know the difference between creole from a stoned two in the morning trip to taco bell. can this person who wrote this even cook? and by cook i mean make something from SCRATCH not pull something from the freezer and pop it into the microwave / oven rack on a cookie sheet. why he is focused on how much weight Stefan has gained in his mind? a chef is defined by how thin they are? i think not. this pitiful fixation on how attractive the chefs are finally brings me to Fabio's hair - a mohawk is defined by cut and not style so Fabio had a mohawk and not a faux hawk. a faux hawk is defined by style and not cut. |

Top Chef:
between carla stefan and josiah, i want Carla to win. i can't stand that josiah - this isn't top prep cook. say what you want about stefan's attitude, at least he can be innovative. fabio went home because he failed to meet a requirement of the contest, make a creole dish. i've been to delmonico in las vegas and though everyone else raved and loved it i couldn't eat a single thing because i don't eat meat. granted it is a steakhouse so i didn't expect much for myself. i fail to see why a steakhouse is that upscale in the first place. it's just some steaks and potatoes. we aren't even talking black angus here let alone kobe. |

Top Chef: I'm totally there now on the Carla love. I was really pleased for her and glad she did well.
Pleased too that Jeff had a chance to redeem himself. Stefan should have gone home, not Fabio. I'm rooting for Carla to win. It would eb great to see another woman win, she's producing great dishes and I desperately don't want Stefan to win. eta: I also desperately want to go to New Orleans and eat in Emerill's Delmonico. Mmmm, the latest episode was food porn for me. -------------------- "Hey, did anyone ever think Sylvia Plath wasn't crazy, maybe she was just cold? " (Lorelai Gilmore) |

Top Chef
I was SOOOOOOOOO happy for Carla. How great for her! As much as I like Stefan's cockiness, I was glad he did not do well in this competition. I was actually hoping Hosea would go home. So, who does everyone think will win? I'm not so sure who the clear winner is so far. Carla has really surprised me lately. I would be so happy if she won this season. Ok. Now, I gotta fo finish watching Grey's. -------------------- "I'm not impressed easily. Wow! A blue car!"-Homer Simpson

Yup, Ashley is indeed written/edited entertainingly, at least...when the season is over and she's allowed to talk about it, I'll have to ask Jamie exactly what actually went on!

ashley is funny, but i loathe her 'working her neck'. she makes me want to pull a kelkello and stab her in the neck. but the show would be dull without her... i just wonder how much of it is the writers...

Did anyone catch East Bound and Down yet? I think it debuted on HBO Sunday night. I loffed and loffed and loffed, it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV. If you've seen the film Foot Fist Way, you'll probs really dig it.
Top Chef....YAY Carla! I'm so glad she made it. I hope, hope, hope she kicks Stefan's arrogant Swedish ass. Rock of Love......I've kinda fallen in love with Ashley, she's got a great sense of humor. When she was talking about throwing up and shitting her pants like it was a badge of honor....fantastic. I find it difficult to look at her, but she's really snarky and quick with a snappy retort. |

Bah ... I knew there was something I forgot on Wednesday night! I guess I'll have to catch a Rerun of Top Chef next week.
I, too, am looking forward to Dollhouse. Here's hoping it doesn't suck! |

I did, star! Yes, glad that Leah finally went home! I was really hoping Stefan would for being so cocky about the salmon and then over-cooking it. Happy Carla has come into her own and really like her; her bubbly personality is infectious. I hope either Carla or Fabio wins and I think they'll make it to final with Stefan.
I am looking forward to seeing Dollhouse but am trying to avoid anything written about in online. -------------------- "Hey, did anyone ever think Sylvia Plath wasn't crazy, maybe she was just cold? " (Lorelai Gilmore) |

Has anyone watched Top Chef this week? I'm SOOOOOOO glad Leah went home. Yahoo!! Very happy that Carla did a good job this round also. Even though, I like Stefan, I'm glad he didn't do well this time around. Fabio just cracks me up. It was good to see him finally win a competition. So, who does everyone think will be in the top 3?
I forgot to add to my list of TV shows...RuPaul's Drag Race. Soooooo good. -------------------- "I'm not impressed easily. Wow! A blue car!"-Homer Simpson

GT, I know, Natasha's make up on ROL was crazy! What do you think about their assertion about her being a male? That Brittney gal is such a bitch. She looked awful in the elimination ceremony.

X-Psoted in the Yo Ladies thread with an additional GOD YOU SUCK thrown in for good measure:
I am only phobic of reality shows that pose as theraputic when, what they probably will end up doing is having some Cotton Ball Man chase me around while Dr. Drew stands back explaining why my fear might turn to murderous rage any second now. Gt, just to add a bit of confusion to the thread, my friend on ROL is also a Jamie! (the skinny black-haired one.)
