I am just love love loving this video. I can't watch it enough.
Alicia Keys No One I'm going to try to say this so it sound right but I'm sure it won't. The clothes she's wearing in the videos are not what I guess society would call "flattering" but I think she looks FUCKING AWSOME! You can see the curviness of her stomach and the thickness of her legs and I just don't care. She looks so beautiful and seeing her makes me feel good about my own curves. I love her hair, her makeup and her voice is just honey. It's such a positive song and just makes me want to dance all around my house. I hum it while I'm making dinner and I'm floating around the room whenever it's in my head. I mean she just belts out the notes. I love her. She's up there with Aaliyah on my list. Just wonderful!!! "People keep talkin! They can say what they like! But all I know is EVERYTHING'S GONNA BE ALRIGHT!!!!!!!!" I need to live by this in my own life. Love Alicia Keys!!!!! |

I saw that video as a kid, and during a dance simulating cunninglingus, my older sister shut it off, saying "Mom and Dad wouldn't want you watching that." I loved the album, even if I was too young to get the sexual parts.

En Vogue were fantastic. They could sing and had great range (their snarling on Free Your Mind and cooing on Giving Him Something He Can Feel). Besides, a lot of girl groups were selective or had a Svengali, it doesn't matter as long as the women could sing and had personality.

And now a video question! Please please help me with this!: Does anyone remember a video that was played a lot during 2000, I remember it as a pseudo-light-punky commercial band (just guys - but it could have been a pure pop band as well, just not a boy band) who sang about "this girl I know" who was "sad, but I know she's beautiful" or something along those lines - she had short hair and was crying in the bathtub. This has been haunting me for weeks now, it was a quite popular song as I remember it, not top 40, but the video was still played a lot. If you can help me you'll have my gratitude forever and ever! Hah, this is ONLY interesting for me and no one else, but still, I found the damn video. Absolutely (Story of a girl) - Nine days The reason I was so eager to find it was because a guy who had a crush on me back then said that the girl in the video reminded him so much of me. I dont quite get that, but still, that video is 2000 for me. We got in touch again this summer, and then I came to think of it. |

Oh phooey, I hate when videos get removed. Sorry about that.
Does this work? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uu1RP34FLXU I think Aimee Mann + Michael Penn are the most adorable and talented pop/rock couple. |

For some reason this video got stuck in my head this morning....Shakespears Sister. I'd forgotten it was banned in Germany for the whole "witchcraft" theme (uh, yeah, had they only seen Buffy coming down the line).

Ahhh, I loooove that Scritti Politti song!
Oh missladyj, you sure do know how to pick 'em. Elliott Smith - Independence Day I adore this song and Elliott's sweet and haunting vocals. And if you listen closely at the beginning you'll here some moron shout out "Freebird" and Elliott mumble "Fucking Freebird". *giggle* -------------------- ~I'm so tired of being tired As sure as night will follow day Most things I worry about Never happen anyway~ |
