The FYI-Bot is freakin' adorable. Just look at that avatar! Love it! I definitely think that we shouldn't use it too much. Afterall, trolls die faster when they are starved and any sort of attention feeds the troll. However, since the troll has hit the boards so strongly all of a sudden, I feel that it is fine to remind people how to use the ignore feature - especially in the Newbies thread and in the Community Forum. We have a long holiday weekend ahead of us & there's a good chance that the Lounge Lady won't check in with us until Tuesday, so we just gotta do what we gotta do until then.

hey chicas, i was thinking all of the info about the ignore feature is good, but it kind of ruins the thread's conversational flow.

so i got to thinking, how can we post the info that we need and keep the conversation going?

the answer i came up with is the FYIBOT. fyibot, is a collective bot-- we'd all control when need be to post useful info, like the ignore feature.


the reason we should use FYIBOT is because we can all set our accounts to ignore both the troll and the fyibot so instead of the long warning spaces for warning other busties, we will see nothing but that the fyibot has posted, and the conversation will go on without disruption. while busties who say don't know how to use the ignore will get all the info they need to proceed.

if i may make one other suggestion. if there is a new troll that comes in the lounge we can have fyibot post in here with the troll's name so we all have a heads up.

does that make sense?

there will be a good number of people with the password, so there will always be someone to 'man the guns' so that no one has to get the shock of seeing those upsetting pix, etc. and anyone of them can post a new troll in here and a ignore feature reminder for any new posters.
i doubt that our current troll reads our posts that don't object to his posts, so here is a hint at the password: it is a name for everyone who posts in the lounge. please do not change it, so that we can all use it. also-- there is a place where you can keep useful notes in each account. i will write a stock post incase of trolls, so that you don't actually have to write anything, just cut and paste.

so that is the idea.

he's a basic run-of-the-mill, generic anti-choice xtian who likes to post graphic fake photos.

rose violet was kind enough to post a little how-to on changing your ignore settings it goes something like this:
