Anyway, here are my suggestions:

• Tell you doctor you are concerned about the possibility of PID, because you have constant pain/pressure in your lower abdomen.
• I think this is a useful article (re: Mycoplasma genitalium) Print it out and bring it with you if you think it will help.
• Ask for a bacterial culture.
• If you're not ready for a colpo, the doctor will decide that.

I recently just started reading about yeast, I really don't know jack shit about it. But I think that we all have some rare type of yeast that is killing our good bacteria. I didn't know that just because you don't itch or have cottage cheese creeping out that you could still have a massive yeast infection in your blood. I knew antibotics caused them, but I didn't know that steroids did as well. I'm no weight lifter trying to acquire more muscle mass, I was on steriods for asthma for years. Recently my doctor put me back on them.... I will not be using them any longer.

We need some kind of combo med pack that can work together killing the bacteria and yeast at same time.

You know what else is odd, and my friends laugh because they don't believe me...but I have to put in a new tampon whenever I pee because it gets urine on it if I don't..And it doesn't matter of how high or low I insert it. Nope...it only gets worse. It doesn't get better. Guess what happened to me today?! I PISSED MYSELF! Hahaha. Whatever is going on with me is affecting my entire genitourinary tract and I don't see an end to it! I've had what they call "giggle incontinence" my entire life. You make me laugh too hard and its Niagara Falls. Usually you have to make me laugh pretty damn hard for it to happen. But today, I laughed hard for about 2 seconds and the stuff just came out in one quick spurt. Luckily I had an extra pair of pants in my car. Unfortunately I had no underwear. So I went to the Tool concert (My FAVORITE band by the way. They are god.) tonight without underwear. I did some sweating "down stairs" and now my ass crack is sore! I took a shower and washed it off and its still sore! And there is also an odor there too that didn't go away with washing. So now I think I might have a yeast infection in my ass crack! (My doc and I are pretty sure I've had one before.) I also think I have a bv/yeast coinfection too because the burning only continues to worsen. Especially since I've pretty much stopped my diet and started smoking again. So now my vag burns and smells, my pelvis feels like there is a balloon in it, I'm as incontinent as a damn 80 year old and my ass crack feels like somebody sand papered it! HAHAHAHAHA! This is fucking HILARIOUS! My luck is shit. I can't wait till tomorrow when my old school doctor laughs in my face for all the questions and suggestions I'm going to have. He's probably just going to think I'm one of those internet head cases that gets paranoid from "reading too much." The second the words "Mycoplasma" and "Ureaplasma" pass my lips he'll probably start tuning me out from then on. I'm so angry right now. That Tool concert was a spiritual experience for me but I could not immerse myself completely into its glory because of that wretched sweat and BURN! I HATE THIS SHIT!

And how the holy hell am I supposed to get a colpo with these infections going on? Isn't it dangerous to do a biopsy with the shit I've got brewing down there?

Morphia, make sure that you tell your doctor to check for that bacteria common with strep...or any other bacterial infection that you have had. Like I had mentioned earlier that I had a bacterial pink eye infection...I'm gonna look and see what bacteria are common with that infection, as well as strep, and ear infections, sinus infections, respiratory infections... I was very sick as a kid..suffered from those infections often, and spent much of my childhood in the hospital. Different antibotics treat different bacterias.. Who knows.... Doctors are lazy....

I don't give a shit if they think I'm nuts...but I am the fucking customer, and I'm paying so they better do as I ask or I will just go somewhere else. Like I said it won't hurt to know. Noone knows enough about this shit anyways.

I know how you all are feeling, I'm more rotten smelling then a fish boat right now. I know it's proly not a good idea to wear tampons on account of that you stink..but i do.

I'm wanting to read more about body temperatures when I get time, just becasue i know your body temperatures change throughout a womens monthly cycle, and you can even tell when your fertile by monitoring your temperature. (I think it rises?) not sure. I'm just curious what effects temperature has on maintaining your body ph balance, or none at all... Does acid become more acidic when heated...or does base become more alkaline.

I'm sure as fuck its not gonna solve the chronic bv mystery but I'm curious.

I know for sure that the smell is still there. People make it extremly apparent when they're near me. Even though it bothers me that they talk shit when i'm around them, I really don't care anymore. I KNOW that I DO take a shower every morning and may be even more clean than they are! Shit, I take a shower twice a day or more.

I got b.v. when I got pregnant. I remeber, that at the time I had yeast, Trying to rid myself of disharge, I douched daily with plain water. I think the bacteria multiplied faster with the water . Which, in turn gave me the worst case of BV anyone could ever have! My vagina smelled like SHIT or a really nasty FART!

I'm really interested in hearing womens results of the bacterias that are found in thier cultures that will be done. Some virgin girls that had reoccurring vaginosis, it was discovered that it was an infection that had spread from an upper respriratory infection from her ears that was never noticed or treated, the bacteria ended up down there somehow. Maybe a few of us could discover that it is from a simple strep throat bacteria that we never had treated. I'm really hoping that will help some of us. My son came home with strep throat 3 times this year, he is always drinking after me, and for a few days my throat would get very sore...but then go away on its on..wishful thinking I know but it couldn't hurt to check.....

This is very interesting. I had chronic strep throat when I was younger. To the point that I had to have my tonsils removed. But that doesn't keep you from getting it again. You can still get it, you just don't know what it is since you don't have tonsils to get all swollen, purple and puss ridden. Its very possible this could be the case for me. I will let you know how EVERYTHING goes after tomorrow. I wanted to take a bv vacation today too but I can't. My symptoms are only getting worse, or at least changing. My discharge is a light yellow now and my burning gets worse with heat. This is going to be a WONDERFUL summer.

I've been really, really lucky with the boric acid. I just use it after sex and right after my period and I'm odor free. I hope (knock on wood) that I continue to be lucky with it. I do tend to develop a bit of an odor right before my period, but I don't bother with the boric acid until after.

I hope you who are having more stubborn problems find something that works.

The smell of bv consumes me at all times as far as wondering if someone smells it. I am also using the boric acid( I am using the yeast arrest that contains boric acid) and it has been working for me too. But I know that it may or may not stop working for me so I am making sure that I have an arsenal of products that I can turn to that is why I really love this board and all the information everyone provides..

Morphia--That story you posted about the woman who had HPV and got tested for "mycoplasma" and "ureaplasma"...that's news to me. How come doctors never test for these since HPV is getting very common? I had an abnormal pap smear back in October but it only showed up as mild dysplasia and not technically HPV. I've sinced cleared the dysplasia. I've had BV for a LONG time (even when I was a virgin) so I know that my BV isn't connected to the dysplasia but I wonder why nobody has ever mentioned all of this? I'm getting increasingly more frustrated as I read all of the new posts by new members...everyone is suffering in their own hell and doctors aren't helping. Not only does this one infection RUIN any confidence a woman has about her sexuality and cleanliness...it could be doing damage to her reproductive organs. It amazes me that doctors don't take this infection more seriously.

Here's my bv bitch for the day. It turns out I had more of an odor than I thought I did. My bf finally confessed to me last night that when I'm turned on he often gets a waft of odor. He also said that its gotten more potent since I started treating it. So I guess I do have the smell AND the burning. Lucky fucking me. So it's too bad this didn't come up until you already had your Dr. appointment. But it's come up that it's probably a good idea to ask for a bacterial culture instead of the usual wet-mount/whiff-test - so they can specifically identify exactly what is in your discharge. Perhaps next time.

As far as probiotics go, I've actually had pretty good results from Fem-dophilus (check out my blog for more info.) It's allegedly clinically proven to end up in your vagina after a week, so it's not all destroyed by bile.

I'll find the studies and add them to my blog later today.

All I know is at my last doctor appointment, I'm laying nude on a paper sheet covering the bench..with shit dripping out of my snatch...seeping through the paper....How much time do you think busy offices take cleaning after exams??? Good Morning everyone!

I'm done with my period. I used the rephresh crap (but should have used it before I started my period. Bought some AZO yeast, gonna start taking that on a daily basis. (The discharge is a stinkin!) I'm also taking the ultimate flora) but only for a few days now. I spent about 100 bucks on vitamins and mineral supplements at my health found store. I seen a women who is an idologist (spelling not even close). She claims that she can read your eyes and know what aliments that your are suffering from. And well, she was right, and I didn't give her any help trying to discover my health issues either. I"m not sure I totally believe everything she said, becasue some of it was contridicting. But diferent foods do have different affects on people with regards to their blood type. She also told me that it took her two and half years of making changes in her diet before her asthma and pre-diabetic symtoms went away. It takes a long time for your body to recover from bad eating habits in the past. (Mine being almost 32 years of bad habits). Maybe many of you already do, but start drinking water, and plenty of it. My "water supply for years has been everything but water. It helps to maintain your ph too. Also, make sure you eat breafast, whether your trying to lose weight or not. It's very hard on your pancreas and every other cell in your body that has to go to stored supplies of energy and nutrients, robbing it from where ever it can. Oh, and if your stomach is empty all that is in it is acids and not good at all on digestive tract.

I'm gonna find a specialist somewhere close to me that is not in Muncie to treat me for my bv, and well, I guess I will just have to get into my savings that I have to pay the doctor..was saving to buy a house when I get finished with school....

To all the smokers...I have the chantix, it is suppose to work wonders..I know 6 people who have been smokers for 20 years + and haven't smoked for 8 months now!
