Ive been an observer on this formum for a long time. I have been suffering with BV for 5+ years and have tried every medication, herbal remedy, and diet change under the sun with no results. At extreme despiration I have tried a something new that has offered some hope of healing. Brace yourself......Im am doing URINE THERPY. Yep. I drink a small glass of my own urine in the morning and douch with the rest of it. I have def seen improvement in my BV. I may douch with it twice a day sometimes. Its free (Not like peroxide) and it doesnt burn. Ive been doing it for about a week. Drinking my urine is really hard for me, and I really dont think im drinking as much as I should. Urine fast are recommended but I have to work my way up to that. I know it sounds gross but this BV has given me no choice...It will be hard if not impossible to do the first time you try, but u just have to think about how the BV is destroying your life and youll get over it. Urine is supposedly very nutritional and healing for the body. If anyone has the guts to try it plese let me know if your also getting results. Hope this helps someone. Seems to me like the thrill is gone as for this forum. No one post anymore. I think a lot of us women have just gotten frustrated and exhausted with our doctors, remedies, and prescriptions. I use to visit this site often I tried everything under the sun to cure my bacterial vaginosis including more than 20 doctors over the past several, several years. Not once has my bacterial vaginosis let up in years. I suffer daily with discharge and an awful smell.

The reason why no one ever post anymore is because there is nothing else left to say but why have our doctors failed us, why is there no known cure to clear this up completely. Why all the useless antibiotics, disappointing doctor visits and money we waste away on the regular trying to get a healthy vagina. Ladies whats next what do we do from here, lets not give up lets stand up and be heard. What can we do??

It's important to understand that doctors can only prescribe you what is available for your condition. There are many drugs that the FDA hasn't approved because there isn't enough money for it to be tested and researched. Money is a big factor in the production of drugs. Researchers do know for a fact that there are newer strains of bacterial vaginosis that are antibiotic resistant, lactic acid resistant, and hydrogen peroxide resistant (go here for more information.) They are finding newer ways to treat these strains of bacteria. In a sense, even if you tried the most highly regarded remedy that is guaranteed to work, it won't because of the strain of bacteria that you could potentially be dealing with. The best thing you can do about dealing with your bacterial infection is to consider looking into participating in medical research. That is your only portal to testing a drug that can literally cure you. Just something to consider ...

Hi Sassy!! Great to see ya!!! Yeah, mine comes in and out. I'm free of it, then it comes back, mostly after sex. I wish I could use the boric.. I have two bottles of it.. but, the alergic reaction wasn't worth it. In fact, I have never really been able to get rid of the reaction I had to it. Still getting soars on my arms and forehead, and I haven't used boric for well over a year...

I try not to let it stress me out too, that's why I rarely come on here. I feel like the more I think about B.V., the worse it gets! lol.. so, staying away from this blog, keeps my mind off of it! lol

Anyways, great to see you! Glad you have yours some what under control. Is Lori still around? Or has she left.

I don't know about Lori. I really don't read this thread much anymore. I comment in other threads but there was too much drama here.

Hey Jewels...I'm still around. I'm still using boric acid every few months, going to my doctor for monitoring while on it, and eating a healthy diet. I also quit the pill after being on it for six years. I'm not cured, but I am doing a lot better than I was so that is something. I try not to let this BV stress me out anymore. Sorry to hear that yours came back

I find it to be a coincidence that you brought up that article. My brother was actually diagnosed with Crohn's Disease a few years ago, and from there they gave him an endoscopy, and a colonscopy to see how badly inflamed his intestines were. After doing test after test, they discovered his intestines were badly inflamed. The doctors also tested his feces to see if he was vitamin deficient because he was losing so much weight, and he was in fact vitamin D deficient. What's an even bigger coincidence is he rarely left the basement. He was very into online gaming.

no you can't get it in gelatin capsules. i have empty gelatin capsules that i can make my own suppositories out of. i didn't do it though because i realized that a tincture is made from alcohol which would probably not be good for in there. i only use the calendula on the outside.

I went through a period of weird irregular bleeding. My periods would last a month. I had one gyno test me for cancer and did all the tests!!! They came back negative and he wanted to do a DNC and I said no!!! I went to another doctor who tested me for bv and he said that bv can cause bleeding. I was treated for the bv and put on the nuvaring for about 6 months and after that I stopped the nuvaring bc it made me a little crazy. But I think it reset my system bc for the first time I have only 7 day periods that come about the same time every month.I hope this helps some. I hope you find a dr that listens. I understand how frustrating that can be.



The bleeding stop it went back to 7 days. When I do get my period I smell fresh(bad way) it so much stronger.
When I don't have my period the smell is back to musty. All I can do is pray and hope that I will be normal again.

Anyway, CURRENT INFECTION. Just finished Flagyl. YUUUUCCCK.

Real quick about me, problems dating back to pubert, just turned 37. Constant musky, super vaginal smell, like vag perfume going on. The last 10 years especially have been hell on earth. Its to the point I'm avoiding jobs, and have been sexually harassed on jobs.

First I did half peroxide, half water. When I smelled more fishy, I did 2/3 peroxide, 1/3 water. It didn't work, it made things worse!

Now at this point, I bout rephresh brand probiotics. They have the same strains as FemD, but don't really need refrigeration. I had to go that route, cause I don't have my own refrigerator right now. (for those wondering, I've been doing temporary jobs for money).

Anyway, I can't begin to explain how my vagina has ruined my life, my reputation, self esteem, etc. Especially now. Life would have went well for me in this facility if my vagina wasn't so offensive or noticeable. And now I'm going to another facility for a while, and I want and NEED to fight to get healthy down there. I do have vitamin c, folic acid, Culturelles, and now the rephresh probiotics. I can't afford the feminine washes that I know would agree with me and dove doesn't work to kill bacteria on the skin for me (for labia freshness).

So HEEELLLLLLLP. Please respond with suggestions, but most of all support. I can't have conversations like this with the average person because the average person thinks vaginas are disgusting, dirty, and hilarious (and what a shame....). But I'm tired of living under a cloud of shame. My professional life, financial recovery, and personal recovery depend on getting things tamed and straight down there.

I am so sorry to hear you are having some trials in your life. You sound a lot like me. I have let BV ruin my life in many ways and I can't stand it anymore. Please dont give up. My advice is to avoid stress as much as you can. You have to be your own mental therapy right now, so comfort yourself. I am trying my best to live with BV until I can get rid of it. I walk around saying to myself "If they smell me, too bad" Its not like I want them to be turned off by my smell, its not like I dont take baths, or I haven't been to several doctors to fix the problem. See people dont know your story so quite naturally they want understand so let them think what they want, you cant control them anyway but you can control the way you feel. I pray that you make it ok and bless you and everyone else.

It's upsetting how doctor don't take the time to listen to their patients instead of thinking they don't know their bodies. I've been telling my doctor severely times about my hot flashes and they brush it off like I'm lyingand do another blood test. when i talk about my bv they give higher dose of flagyl which never work for me.
