didn't there used to be a thread for this before?
I hope it's cool that I did this, but after seeing Molly Ringwald in an epi of medium, I had to post about it. she looked good, still those fabulous full lips and the hair, only more mature. when I realised it was her I nearly spit though. I need to rent 16 Candles again and Pretty In Pink and all those other great flicks too. wish I could get my kid to stop thinking the '80's were so dorky so I could grow her up the Right way. -------------------- I am a *spark* in this world; get lit.

No, they did not mean that always. You were not clueless, freckle. People just got "creative" about their meaning, to reflect, say, their own generation's ideas.
If they'd have been around when I was watching the trend go around for the first time, and they had a meaning, I'd have made all my bracelets signify "bite my ass", I'm so skeeved by what the bracelets mean now. I can't imagine anything worse that the utter cluelessness and lack of ability and skill of the pubescent. Can you? Talk about a lousy sexual experience. Does anyone remember Dolman sleeved sweaters? And the fact that all coats had to be redesigned so that you could wear them over those sweaters? These were the concerts I HAD!!! to get tickets for during the 80's: U2; The Police; Big Country; The Cure; The Psychedelic Furs; David Bowie; Simple Minds; King Sunny Ade; The Cult; UB40, REM... -------------------- May suitable doses of guaranteed sensual pleasure and slow, long-lasting enjoyment preserve us from the contagion of the multitude who mistake frenzy for efficiency.
