I'm not sure if you are already aware of this, loungelady, but when looking at anybody's profile I cannot click on any of the drop-down options, i.e. ignoring the user or click on the options for topics, posts, etc.

Also, the only reason my post is appearing in colour is because I know the code as the last time the lounge was improved my colour was removed from the palette.

LL - old posts seem to be back. avatars are back. still no formatting bar. i was able to go to a persons profile and view all their posts. other then formatting bar everything seems fine. i don't use the pink formatting however. i use the work safe blue. (I'm boring I know). I'm not exactly the pink kinda person. Getting off subject here. Seems to be much better. Thanks!!

okay, thanks everyone. i got the avatars back, still trying to figure out the bb code thing. and the drop down thing...

Thanks for the reply, LL! Nope, this is a new issue for me, the stretched screen. I remember in the old OLD Lounge, sometimes really long URLs or massive text without spaces would stretch an entire thread past the edge of the screen, but it hasn't been happening since the changeover from that old OLD Lounge. This time the whole Lounge is stretched, no matter what part of it you are in. I checked it in IE and Firefox, and it's doing it in both.....

I don't have the problem if I set my resolution to 1024 X 768....but then the text comes up REALLY tiny for me.

hey, anyone know why i have to sign in every time i open the website? it's not terrible, just so very annoying.
used to be i could just open the site and already be signed in. i haven't changed my computer settings at all so it's not the cookies thing, i am clicking the "remember me" box, i'm not even shutting down the computer between sign ins (i remember sometimes that would make me have to sign back in). what gives?

Will we be getting our formatting tools back? I miss them.

fast reply has them, yes, but ironically, they disappear (along with the sidebar options and everything else) when you click on more options.

I'm on a Mac, using Firefox 2.0 in work-safe mode and still no toolbar. Everything else seems to be okay. CH, do you still have an avatar? i know you did and I can see everyone else's, but not yours.

there seems to be a problem uploading pix too, polly.
ch deleted her old one and was trying to put a new one up, but the site doesn't want to load up.
as for the toolbar, it's not just firefox or the mac, it's just not there.

also:pepper: are you toggling between more than one page? if you are that could be part of the problem. the problem should disappear if you stick to one page.


so here is the list of things that seem to be not working, debbie:

• we can't upload pics for avitars or for our 'personal photo' on the profile page.
• the more options page for replies is utterly blank and all of the editing buttons (like the ones above on the fast reply panel) are awol.
• the profile page info does not list (the threads, posts, blog, comments, etc stuff in the middle of the screen on the profile page.)
• on the profile page 'options' pulldown beneath the profile pic does not work. it doesn't even pull down.

as far as i know that is it, unless someone has something to add.

I posted in wrong thread earlier... any idea why I couldn't access the lounge at all over the weekend? this is happening to a few people at different times. The lounge was the only site I had difficulty accessing.

As far as I can see the other things seem to be fixed - yay for having the post options back!

bunny, i don't know why you were unable to access the lounge... that's very mysterious. let me know when it happens again, and also post the exact error message you recieve. thanks!

no error message per se (in the past I've had the service downtime due to capacity errors and obviously last weekend there was the message from yourself) just the normal firefox problems loading this page error (the IE this page cannot be displayed error). I assumed it meant the lounge was being fixed again and, yes, it could have connection problems but I tried ALL weekend (I like my lounge fix ) and I continually received the message after the browser attempted to connect for some time and I didn't have any problems loading other sites instantly. Curiouser and curiouser... I'll let you know if it happens again but here's hoping it was just an anomaly.

hi all, thanks for the replies. still kicking me off when i close my browser though so every time i open the browser and come to the lounge i have to sign in. not terrible, like i said, but annoying.

I've tried it in Firefox 3 on both Mac and PC and Safari on Mac and likewise cannot stay logged in. (I tried posting this last night and it didn't happen). My cookies and stored passwords are correct, but for some reason, it just won't stick. No big, I can log in whenever I visit, but it is a bit frustrating.

I'm trying to change my avatar (the one I was using was my dog,Daisy, who passed away from a brain tumor *sobs*) & the site keeps telling me the image I'm selecting is too big. It even said that when I tried to re-enter Daisy's pic! It says "Image Scale" is on & that will resize the pic to an appropriate size, but I guess not, huh? WTF? Can someone help?

Uhh, when did the url go from bustmag.com/lounge back to bust.com/lounge, as it was before the server migration?

I couldn't get on the site all day Thursday and thought, "they wouldn't have changed the url, would they? nooo, they wouldn't do that without telling me!" Then I tried it on a whim and here I am....I feel like I lost a day.

polly, who knows what's going on? I think some of us have been lucky because we have the lounge bookmarked and it reroutes us to the old address.

Perhaps it has somehting to do with the background no longer changing. I have to say: if it ain't broke in the first place, don't fix it.

hey, here are some answers:

-the bustmag.com/lounge was just a temp url until the rest of the site got moved to the new server. IT's back to bust.com/lounge

-the decision was made by the art dept. to stop rotating backgrounds on the site and just leave it at this black one with stripes. They felt the other backgrounds were too distracting. It's the same one that's used on the entire rest of the site. Sorry!

- i hope to get to the avatar uploading issues soon, and the login one too. I'd suggest clearing the bust lounge cookie from your browser if possible, and see if that helps.

Happened again for a few hours today, LL. Tried on both Friefox and Safari, using bookmark and typing in old and new address and even googled the lounge and used that link but each time it said server not found; every other site I tried worked fine.

I had the same issue this morning, used both bust.com and bustmag.com, and was getting "server not found". this lasted until about 2pm uk time (so... 9am NYC time, I think).

Yup, me three: I also got 'sever not found' despite trying various ways in.

Now, I am not only avatar-less (I tried deleting cookies as Lounge Lady advised... ) but I had to change my user name & email addy to even get in.
I tried logging on as usual, by clicking on the link in My Favorites, as usual (nothing),
then, tried logging on by entering my user name/password (didn't work),
got 3 new passwords assigned by the site(didn't work),
sent a convo to loungelady@bust.com explaining my plight (was returned as "rejected by remote mail server)
Now, I am reborn.
Any idea what happened & how I can get an avatar??

also, not that it is that big of a deal: when i highlight text to apply html code to it, the highlighted portion only lasts for two codes - for example, color and size. then it reverts and i have to highlight again to apply any other code. not impossible to deal with, but annoying.

img code doesn't seem to want to work. it deletes any code i use.
no many how many times or ways i try to edit and add it.

hey everyone, thanks so much for your patience with the switchover. I promise that, once it's all said and done, things will actually be better around here. This week we're sending BUST off to print, so I have less and less time to work on the site (back to working on it full time next week, though). Please hang tight; everything will soon be solved.

As for the server not being available the other day, the entire server was down (no idea why). I had my host restart it and then it was back on. So yeah, for about 5 hours in the middle of the nite it was completely down. Sorry!

What's with the porn and pharmacy bots?

Anyone have any idea why I can't post images from photobucket on this site any more? I don't know what the problem is. I'm copying and pasting the photobucket IMG link into my messages, but all that shows up is a string of code. I didn't used to have that problem a few months ago.
