Peanut Brittle!

I made this for the first time last night, and it is delish!!

Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup water
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup peanuts (not roasted, because they'll taste burnt)
2 tbl butter (softened)
1 tsp baking soda


Grease a cookie sheet and set aside.

In a heavy 2 quart saucepan bring to a boil: sugar, corn syrup, salt, and water on medium heat.
Stir until sugar dissolves.
Stir in peanuts and put your candy thermometer in place.
Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until you reach 300 degrees F.
(or if you don't have a thermometer, until your sugar mixture separates into brittle threads when dropped in ice water)

Remove from heat and quickly stir in your butter and baking soda (have them already measured and ready) Pour immediately onto cookie sheet, quickly spreading it out nice and thin with two forks.

wait for it to cool and snap off a piece!

and in the actual letter, i put the name of the troll, and a link to the thread.

i dunno, i have mixed feelings about having my posts deleted. i usually go back and edit them down to a "." or "troll attack" or some such just so there is some sort of thread continuity, so readers know why things may seem disjointed.
