Okay. Was that fuckin' awesome or was that fuckin' AWESOME?! Finally, finally she stood up for her son! I'd been considering ordering Starz for Spartacus, but maybe Big Love will sate my bloodthirst!

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! Ok, AP, I'm glad I PM'd you- because I had NO IDEA this thread was here!! I DVR'd the show last night and haven't watched it yet-tonight- but I am insane about Big Love! So I won't read anything til I watch it but I am so excited this thread is here! YAY!
(I'm also a very late arrival having only started watching it this season- So I'm still catching up to who's who and what the hell happened before). Will be back to ramble away later!

This season is definitely over the top. I can't imagine being a writer for a show with so many different characters who are all so interconnected in different ways. Paperboy asked me if Big Love had "jumped the shark". I said HBO shows don't really jump the shark, but it still feels a little too insane. I'm enjoying it but I've pretty much thrown every shred of reality out the window. Does anyone know if this season is only 10 episodes again?

Watched it last night and at the end it said only 2 episodes left
I feel like we've definitely checked out of reality- This is so insane- And Bill spends all his time putting out fires between his family, the casino, his home improvement place and running for office. I think he has got to give up something NOW because sometime very soon the bottom is going to drop out. Yikes. I can't imagine... Thinking of what it'd be like living in this kind of situation... Wowsa.

Great googly moogly. Yeah, that waiting limo is gonna whisk you, your red wife, your white wife, & your blue wife away from the Capitol steps, Bill.
This season was just nuts. They might as well have thrown in MaryAnne from True Blood at the rate they were going. Let us hope next season shows a little reason.

Nickclick, I think Adaleen managed to arrive in time to save Nikki from the Frankenmormonbaby sitch. It's based in fact, though. There was a sect leader that was a VERY successful Utah dairy farmer that fancied himself an amateur eugenecist & tried his dairy mating amongst his family members. Didn't work so great. Birth defects.

Okay. Dunno if anybody is watching but me, but this thing with Margene? The ID thing? Would this not have been noticed two seasons ago when Nicki used Margene's ID to work for the Feds? I know BL operates on tenuous threads . . .

Thoughts? I don't know how to do the white text and I'm not planning to get too spoiler-y, but just in case I'll leave some room.
For the first half of the episode I was thinking, how the hell are they gonna wrap this up in an hour, but I think i really liked how they ended it. I definitely wasn't expecting the conclusion but when I saw the neighbour I knew it was coming. Made me teary. I feel like I rarely get to see an HBO show all the way through because the ones I watch always got cancelled, except for my favourite, six feet under (deadwood, carnivale, etc). I'm glad with the way things turned out for Barb too, especially the bit at the very end. That seemed like a very appropriate fit for her.

i feel as though they were liberated from Bill.

That's kind of how I felt too. I did feel as though they wrapped up a lot a lot of things in a nice convenient (Ben and Heather, Barb, Margene) way but I also like a finalized ending so I can't complain about that too much.
One thing that did bother me, I never realized that Margene was supposed to only be 24 (as of this season) and then to find out that she's actually only supposed to be 22...I didn't buy that at all. That means she was 17-18 when the show started. She looks young but she sure as hell doens't look that young. I thought she was closer to 30 on the show - I never really paid that much attention to her age.
