congrats to all !
I just recieved and email from a professor about a 40 page project . He told me it was exemplary. This has made me estatic because it is high praise from some one who's intellect I am in awe of ( he's the kind of prof who would totally tell me if it sucked) . I have been as giddy as a school girl all day, an exemplary school girl at that .

Girlbomb, congrats on finishing a second book! I could never imagine what it would be like to even try to write an entire book.
As for my accomplishments, I had a very successful group presentation for my PR class today and then we got one of our tests back. The test is worth 20% of our mark and I got 100% on it! I can't remember the last time I got 100% on anything but I was just in awe when I got my examination booklet back and I saw that mark.

Congratulations everyone on your accomplishments! Are you going to publish, Doodlebug?
For my accomplishment, after years of weightlifting, I performed my first 300 lb. squat last Monday! I owe it to the Hex bar I recently bought. By comparing the pictures below, note that the hex bar lets the lifter get into a deeper squat and shift more of the weight off of the back and onto the legs than the straight bar (due to the need to clear the bar over one's knees with the straight bar), which yields a higher quality leg workout. If you want to build your legs, I highly recommend it. (The deadlift is still a good back exercise if the lifts are done WITH PROPER FORM, though.)

The results were pretty immediate, so I'm figuring on my strength increasing quite a bit until my progress levels off. Wish me luck!

I had an interview today for the NYC Teaching Fellows program and I. kicked. ass.
My interviewer was kinda scary and everyone else took up the full 20 minutes with him, but I was done with mine in about 15. He kept saying I was on a role. And I usually get all flushed and stupi-fied when I have to go before my peers and talk, but today I just jumped right in and it went off with out a hitch (or hot flashes). Go me!

I didn’t have any money to get Mr. Pug something for his birthday because I’m not working. He’s supporting me while I go to school. I’ve been trying to figure out what to do for him. I’ve written some poetry over the past 13 years but I haven’t written anything good in a long, long time. The last few days I really tried to find inspiration in my discussions on bust, music I’ve been listening too and some art I’ve been looking at on Art.com. Finally I wrote him a poem that I felt really good about. Today was his birthday so I gave it to him and he was very moved and said it was better then any gift I could have given him. It’s not very long but he really took his time reading it like he really wanted to grasp the meaning within my words.
Here it is:
To Ryan,
I extend this poem to you on your birthday
Although trivial, it expresses my deepest emotions
For everything that you are
I love you, Sheena
My Man
Strong, confident, passionate and gracious
The respect I have for you
The way I yearn for your company
The way I crave your flesh
The addiction I suffer because of everything you are
An accomplished man
Jealousy over your exceptional judgment plagues me
The conviction that seeps from your pores
Lusting after your body
Your scent permeates my being
Your voice resonates within my soul
Aching deep within to feel your hands touching me
The desire I have to submit to your will
To be at your side and under your hand
Heat from my skin refreshing my memory to obey
To be your woman
Knowing I am favored above all in your eyes
Wanting to wallow in my own misery
Pain in rapid succession brings about tears
Causing fear and uncertainty to drain away
Revealing tranquility that you knew was always within
Reassuring me through your caress that I can
Fantasizing about our future
Children who will follow their mother
Respect their father
Strong, self-respecting beings
Legacies we both can be proud to call ours
To End This
Know that I am yours forever
I am your companion until the end of time
You have my heart as much today as on July 27, 1996
Happy 27th Birthday!

Sorry I couldn't come up with any decent jokes, but I did the best I could.
While I'm here, have you ever broken into a car? I just did the other day! Before you call the police, I'll clarify that it was my own car.

I was at work at about 6:00 a.m. last Wednesday morning with a -10 degree wind chill. I started my car to let it warm up while I chiseled the ice off of the windows and inadvertently left the car locked.
There's a feature on the car that's supposed to not allow the doors to lock when the keys are in the ignition and the car is in park (or turned off? - I don't remember for sure). Anyway, I tested this earlier, and the pressing the door lock button didn't do anything. So I unwisely but surely let my guard down and for whatever reason, my door was locked when I closed it. That's the problem with fail-safes; they tempt you to let your guard down.

First of all, I pryed the window frame on the driver's door open using the ice scraper in my hand. (I would have chosen a different doorin case of damage, but the frame was loosest on that door.) They had a bunch of hangers at work, so I then tried to hook a hanger around the door handle, but the hanger just bent before the door opened. So, I intertwined 3 hangers and tried to hook the door handle again, but instead I got the door lock switch. I pulled and that unlocked the door.
The whole experience was something like operating one of those claw machines, except in impossibly cold conditions. Perhaps the most amazing thing is that I managed to do all that without getting frost bite or running out of gas! Now all I have to do is quit telling people how to break into my car...

I just competed in my first swim meet in oh about 16 years. My goal was to not embarrass myself and I am proud to say I held my own and am in better shape than I thought.
I swam 50 butterfly in a relay and a 50 fly alone. then a 50 free and another 50 free in a relay.
My next meet in 3/25 and I won't be as nervous.

GOOD FOR YOU!!! One of my goals is to pay off the last $300 on my CC, and now that I work full-time I should be able to do it. Getting out of debt is not trivial, it took a lot of willpower not to by the Vespa.
