Help an artist out.

BY Sarah J. in General |

Candacy Taylor, the artist behind the fabulous story “Dishing It Out” in the February/March ’08 issue of BUST, needs your help! Like a lot of us, Candacy didn’t have health insurance, and on February 19th she had to undergo emergency spinal surgery. She’s up and about, but on a cane—and hurting. Her health care costs for the next six months will be around $25,000. Did we mention no health ... Read More

Research shows that the berry has an active protein called miraculin which binds with the taste buds and, acting as a sweetness inducer, makes acidic foods taste sweet. The berry, Synsepalum dulcificum, is native to West ... Read More

Punk Pioneers

BY Team Intern in Music Stuff |

This book was fell into my lap and captured my attention like an old family album or school year book. Punk Pioneers, a photography book shot by Jenny Lens, doesn't read like a coffee table book but more like a yearbook, given the, at least to this girly who's into punk, famous faces in it. The Ramones, the Screamers, Debbie Harry, Van Halen and Joan Jett are in it. The Sex Pistols even make an appearance. Lens's images have a causual air about them, the subjects ... Read More
I was foodie blog hunting when I came across Snackordie.comMy inner nerd went INSANE at the sight of all those cute mushroom cupcakes and pacman cookies! Let me back track: I come from a gaming family.  I think one of my uncles cried as he set up his Xbox.  My dad chocked on his Xmas breakfast when he opened his PS3.  He lost his PSP once and without thinking went to the store and bought another one. We get serrrrious about video games.  That ... Read More

One of my favorite lady artists is Becky Stark. The songs she makes with her band Lavender Diamond are not only beautiful, but the message is always positive and full of love. looks like the band has made a secret movie to accompany their Matador records  release Imagine our Love. If you are in LA, you are very lucky because they are having what promises to be a wonderful evening of performances on Tues. May 27th  called Psychedelic Healing Visions: A ... Read More

precious cargo

BY Dawn in Style File |

A few issues ago, we did a round up of sweet looking luggage tags. My fav was this adorable tag from PamelaBarsky.com. It reads "nothing worth stealing in here", and really it's true, unless you'd be interested in gaffling a rack full of last season's Forever 21 dresses. But on a recent trip while waiting at bag claim, I was shocked to see that someone was not interested in my collection of cheap threads, but they were so impressed by my cute luggage tag, ...
