I’m not sure about you, but I was super psyched about the latest SNL with Host Lena Dunham and Musical Guest The National; a double win in my book.

The promos for the episode - featuring Lena and Kate McKinnon - had me for-real cry-laughing. I thought I would never get over the departure of Kristen Wiig in 2012, but I think I'll be alright if this comedic genius continues.

2014 has been a pretty awesome year for Dunham: she released photos of her upcoming book Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She’s "Learned" (to be released October 7), she's in the middle of the third season of Girls -- the show that is pretty much 80% her doing, she was on the cover of VOGUE  looking amazing, and she just finished hosting a hilarious and pretty feminist Saturday Night Live. During an interview with Savannah Guthrie on The Today Show, she calls being in the studio “surreal and wonderful.” The interview is almost as super adorable as her new haircut.

With the strong addition of many very talented female Feature Players, Cecily Strong co-hosting "Weekend Update," and the strong women hosts this season--including Kerry Washington, Melissa McCarthy, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, AND Tina Fey-- it’s been a good year for the funny ladies. Just incase you need a reminder of the awesomeness of Tina Fey's guest appearance:

Perhaps the funniest skit from Dunham's show is a short featuring Dunham as Eve, "the first Girl." You really have to watch this.

There's nothing we like more than a woman who takes risks, and can laugh at the backlash she experiences, while continuing to kick major ass. Girl crushin' to the max.
