Remember when Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted the Golden Globes? Let me jog your memory: it felt kind of like it did when the cool, older kids let you hang out with them after school. The duo was laugh-out-loud hilarious and totally down to earth. They turned the long, potentially boring award show into a night of spicy jokes and tomfoolery.
The bad news: they indicated that they didn't plan on a repeat performance. NBC, thankfully, is refusing to take “no” for an answer, and the network cautiously extended an invite to the duo. It seems the network is playing hard to get by postposing making a formal offer until they can get a read on how Fey and Poehler are feeling about the whole thing.
I, like the rest of the universe, really, really, really hope that they accept the gig. Not only are they hilarious, but they are also total feminist superstars. When they hosted, they repeatedly commended women’s increased presence in film and TV. So please come back, ladies? Pretty please with sugar on top?
