Carlisle based artist and designer Lydia Leith has great sense of comic timing. Printing quirky, tounge-in-cheek memorabilia, such as her infamous Royal wedding sickbags, she has tapped into the nation's favourite passtime: a spot of establishment rib tickling, particularly on occassions of National pomp and ceremony.

These punk products have taken the form of Jubilee jelly moulds in the shape of the Queen’s head and a range of sporting temporary tattoos in honour of the London Olympics. As yet more proof the British love to laugh at the British, Lydia has even been commissioned for her work by institutions British Airways and Pimms!

Happily we will have Lydia selling her lovely printed LOLZ this Dec 8 at BUST London Christmas Craftacular. Until then, we asked Alice Hubley writer and Spinning Yarns DJ to ask Lydia a few questions.

Have you been to BUST Craftacular before?

My work has been before but I have never been in person. So am thrilled to finally get attend in person.

What are you looking forward to the most?

Having a look round all the stalls and meeting some like minded craft fans. Also, as I usually sell my designs online, it's always great fun to meet customers in person, hear people's comments and gauge their reactions to new designs. This can be very valuable feedback.

What special items or deals will you be offering shoppers this BUST Craftacular?

I will be wheeling and dealing Christmas sick bags, the new fairy lights inspired "Wired Up" bone china set and lots of other fun items. There will be free Lydia Leith bookmarks for shoppers and I have donated something special to the goodie bags too!

How do you go about doing your Christmas shopping?

I find people like to be entertained so I try and get something that will make them smile. Failing that I opt for getting something practical like some heavy duty hand wash or a key ring with a light on!

What’s your favourite Christmas song?

Boney M, Mary's Boy Child!
