Funny girls, rejoice! New York Magazine is reporting (via comedy blog The Comic's Comic) that two comediennes will be joining the cast of Saturday Night Live for the 35th season starting September 26! No one from NBC has officially confirmed the news, but word on the street is that Lorne Michaels has hired Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad, both formerly of the famous comedy group Upright Citizens Brigade. Jezebel has a list up of their Top 20 Feminist TV Characters . It includes Liz Lemon, Lisa Simpson, Murphy Brown, Marcy D'Arcy (from Married with Children) and Rory Gilmore, among others. What do you think? Is it a good list? Is it a complete list? Who would you add or remove from it? I don't watch a ton of TV, but I was surprised that they didn't include anyone from Buffy. And what about Daria? Also, is there a difference between ''feminist character'' and ... Read More
The Sundance Channel brings you 3 screenings of the film Guest of Cindy Sherman. Paul H-O is just a regular ol' Joe who crashes art gallery openings, video camera in hand, and entertains artists with witty assessments of their work, thus gaining quite a fan following in the New York art scene in the 1990's. I'm No Superman

BY Web Intern in Boob Tube

Last night was the series finale of Scrubs . In this intern's humble opinion, it went out well. It managed to celebrate its 8-year run but it didn't sacrifice characters or formula for the sake of sentimentality. J.D. was still a nerdy dreamer, Elliot was still slightly neurotic, Cox was still a sarcastic grump (with a heart), the Janitor was still psychotic and Turk was still, well, Turk. I think it honored itself really well. They tied up all the loose ends ... Read More
