The internet can be a paradoxical place, whereby Yuppie brands appropriate radical social slogans for their own ends, and us plebeians can communally address other Yuppie brands with such pressing questions as, how drunk are J. Crew models, really?  Discussion has been spurred by Jen Ellison, whose Tumblr FAQ even calls out the fact that most of J. Crew’s male models don’t look drunk.   “They are more often photographed as assertive, rugged, ... Read More

Well ladies, it's that time of year again, with the trees about to shed their leaves and 2015 looming right around the corner. If, like me, you have decided to revamp your wardrobe, then look no further than emerging style icon, well-spoken women's rights advocate, and all-around badass lady Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Everyone could use a little Supreme Court dowager in their closet: equal parts eccentricity, black robe, and thoughtful dissent.  If you ... Chanel debuted their Spring/Summer 2015 collection on a fake Parisian boulevard within Grand Palais in Paris. The show’s clothing had a 1970s vibe with the tweed pantsuits and bright colorful blouses. It could have been a nod to the feminist movement in the seventies, since Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel’s creative director, ended the show with a feminist protest. Normally, I would be happy that feminism has reached a new audience but I don’t think the message was ... Read More

Like my sweatpants are second class citizens or something. Rude.    ANYWAY, according to a recent study, it seems as though covering up on the reg leads to an improved body image. And not just a hoodie hiding third-day top knot hair coverage. ... Read More

New York Fashion Week kicks off in two days (!!!), but it is not only for the elite, style-forward mavens of Vogue as one may think. Fashion Week is for the creative and the curious as well. “HA!” you might be thinking. “This girl clearly has never attempted to attend a fashion week show, ever.”   And you’d be right, which is exactly why I’m not going wax poetic about the genius that is Proenza Schouler or Miu Miu ...
