It’s easy to pass by puffy outerwear in the post-holiday mess that is retail stores these days, deeming it tacky or unflattering. I’ll admit that I’m still not a huge fan of the bubble jacket. But next time you see a marshmallow-y vest, I challenge you to try it on and still believe it’s not worth the warmth. If you find the right one, puffer vests can be cute AND incredibly comfy. I encourage the oversized puffer vest, like the one ... Read More

Like many of my underemployed and vintage-loving peers, I spend a somewhat absurd amount of time and money on Etsy. Whenever I’m in need of a one-of-a-kind gift, keepsake, or outfit, this vintage and handmade marketplace is always where I begin my search.
Never do I appreciate Etsy more than during the holidays. The site is a veritable treasure trove of unique gifts and fabulous holiday ensembles. And the fact that I can do my eclectic/vintage holiday ... Read More

Finally, someone has taken it upon themselves to create jewelry for that previously unadorned canvas, your crotch. That's right ladies, now you can hang cute, sparkley jewels from your pants. You can even wear it with your bathing suit! The video for this is amazeballs, but if you are in the office, make sure to turn it down before you start it 'cause it may just knock your socks off.
Seriously, after watching this I had to check my calendar to make ... Read More
Mess Queen, the young and fresh NYC clothing company, has released a kickass new video that's chock full of colorful leg-wear and general badassery. The video is titled "Queens of New York", and aptly so. Mess Queen's 24-year-old head designer Courtney N. Gamble and her crew are well on their way to becoming NYC fashion royalty.
Gamble began designing her chaotically patterned clothing and accessories in an attempt to "[give] out a fun, cheerful vibe ... Read More

China’s next supermodel may just be 72-year-old Liu Xianping. He’s got the bod for the latest in miniskirts and the legs to pull them off. His cross-dressing photos have gone viral and as a result, his granddaughters’ fashion store sales have increased five fold.
Apparently, Liu has plenty of input on his outfits and enjoys dressing up in contrasting colors. His advice on mixing and matching teen fashion ... Read More
Disney screwed up this week. Big Time. Twice. Retailer Barneys has announced a holiday display featuring the Disney character Minnie Mouse, who has a disturbingly disproportionate and unhealthy body at 5’11” and a size 0. Wow. But wait, there’s more! A model-like ... Read More

Last night, after Mitt Romney made a comment about “binders full of women,” social media took the unintentionally hilarious phrase and ran with it - a tumblr has already been created.
ln keeping with Romney’s idea that women are simply stored in paper documents, Brainpickings has posted a list of twelve rules dated 1943 (possibly found in a binder somewhere) that any decent woman should follow.
Women shall not appear on the ... Read More

Brooklyn-based brand Good Wood NYC has been cranking out cool wood pieces that are carved and designed to “combine art and fashion” since 2007. Each hand-made piece is created with the utmost attention to detail, and the brand has garnered attention from the likes of Snoop Dogg, Nas, Chromeo, Bun B and Mos Def.
This spooky season, Good Wood has introduced a Halloween-themed collection, featuring a creepy skate deck, bracelet, and two ... Read More
One of my favorite collections of the season has to be the adorably wearable Spring/Summer 2013 collection by Rachel Antonoff. Each season, her presentation is cuter than the last and this season doesn’t disappoint. Her garden party of fashion was a wonderland of preppy, school-yard looks with a hint of classic edge. The inspiration, 1977’s scientific film Powers of Ten, can be seen in the mesmerizing silk prints (which are actually aerial ... Read More
