By nightfall tomorrow, there will undoubtedly be someone near you lighting things on fire. But it won't be scary arson or a boy scout gone rogue; it will be patriotic. The fourth of July is the one day out of the year on which we all collectively decide that blowing things up in the sky, purely for amusement, is one hundred percent okay. Unless you live in a state where it's only sort of okay. How un-American! I live right on the border between New Jersey and ... Read More
Though not a new idea, sisters-gone-designers can often make the best of teams (Sienna and Savannah Miller of Twenty8Twelve, The Olsens, Laura and Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte, the list goes on…) So if you're looking for a bit of whimsy brought to you by another sister duo, look no further.  British blogging babes Molly and Alice Goddard channeled their passion for fashion into their own handmade line, Lovetits. But don't be fooled by the ... Read More
I recently had the pleasure of attending Julie Mollo's 2012 Collection Launch Party and it couldn't have been more fun! Her collection consisted of flirty circle skirts that swish in all the right ways and sexy sports bras embellished to perfection. The skirts were made up of things such as music notes, pac-man, sea creatures, skylines, and, best of all, bubbles!  With skirts like theses, balloons and doo-wop setting the mood, the atmosphere ... Do you like cats? Are you allergic? If you said yes to the first or both questions, you're in luck. Even if you are allergic to the adorable furry monsters, you can show your love for felines by wearing them on your legs. Our friends at Pretty Snake made this bomb pair of leggings, but they need your help to make more to fit their demand. If you like their leggings or cats in general, head over to their kickstarter page to make a donation. Donations can get you a ... Read More
Corsets: only 10 years ago, the term conjured up images of uncomfortable Victorian women squeezed into difficult contraptions. But it’s 2012, and that means that corsets are now a fun and sexy option for any lady’s lingerie wardrobe. They’re everywhere, from popular webstores to specialty lingerie boutiques and even common mall shops. And apparently a lot of women are taking advantage of the corset craze. eBay has seen a 185% increase in corset ... Read More
Just because you’re on the beach, that doesn’t mean you need to dress like a bum. Super comfy and chic, caftans are not only the perfect bathing suit cover, but they can also be easily dressed up for a night on the town.  Making your own custom caftan is a breeze. Get a breathable, cotton fabric that’s 60" wide, and measure from your shoulder down to your desired caftan length; double this measurement, adding 1/2" for the hem. Cut the ... Read More
At the age of 17, Katie Halchishick entered the world of plus-size modeling. Though the industry approved of the weight she gained during her first year of college (the notorious “freshman 20”), Halchishick made a pledge to herself to eat healthier, and, in turn, lost a total of 50 pounds—along with a ton of clients. The formerly plus-size model's new size put her into a category that virtually didn't exist in the modeling industry--sizes 6, 8, ... Read More

One of our spectacular craftacular ... Read More
Recently, a few friends and I decided to create a short film. We wanted it to be colorful, fun, and sugary sweet. We filmed on a 1960's Super 8 and I made sure to include all of my favorite things such as cupcakes, picnics, polaroids, and macaroons. There's even a mini wardrobe montage and a twee pop tune by Afternoon Naps!  Initially the project was just for fun, but I'm excited to announce that this Thursday, our short film, 'fetti, will be featured as part ...
